Then, sail to secluded beaches that can only be reached by boat and swim with your provided snorkeling equipment. Book a private rigid inflatable boat (RIB) vessel and an experienced skipper to explore the western parts of Crete with your family or friends. Departing from Kissamos Port, board your boat and ride the waves to the famous Balos Lagoon and to the historic Gamvousa Island. The skipper will take you on an adventurous or relaxed ride (according to your preferences) and provide drinks and snacks on the way.   At your first stop, Balos, you’ll anchor and explore the area’s white sand beaches and vivid turquoise waters for 1.5 hours. You’ll then head to Gramvousa, an island with a medieval fortress at the top of the hill. There, you can sunbathe, snorkel, and swim for another 1.5 hours before returning to Kissamos.

Explore the Old Port of Chania on Agioi Theodoroi and Lazaretta Island on a history-lover's boat cruise. Learn about the history of Venetian occupation, and see a German plane wreck from WWII. Take time to relax on the beach and swim. This activity takes you to two islands connected with ancient mythology and the history of the Venetian occupation. Heading west from the Old Port of Chania, your first stop will be Agioi Theodoroi, an island that was used historically to defend the coast of Crete. Nowadays, it’s a protected area and haven for kri-kri, an elegant and endangered Cretan goat. Your group will drop anchor close to a German airplane wreck (completely destroyed) dated from WWII, and give you the opportunity to dive into the water to see it for yourself.   After approximately 20 minutes, you’ll head on to the second stop on the same island, inside a small gulf with a nice view and a high possibility of seeing the kri-kri goats. The duration of this stop will be approximately 30 minutes. Head on to Lazaretto (or Lazaretta) island, a small island opposite Nea Xora. Clear waters rich in marine life combined with two beautiful sandy beaches make this the best place to end your trip. Enjoy options to swim or relax on the beach until the boat leaves back for Chania. On the way back, you’ll get panoramic views of the Old Venetian Harbour with its famous lighthouse and walled fortresses—an excellent view of what the city looks like from the sea.

Following pick-up from your hotel in the city, head to the dive center in Almyrida to meet your PADI instructors for a pre-dive theory lesson. Benefit from 1 instructor per 2 adult students and 1 instructor for every child for maximum attention. Your friendly instructor will be with you throughout for your comfort and safety. Once you feel confident, dive to a depth of 8 meters with your instructor to marvel at the marine life beneath the surface of the sea. Arrive to Kissamos Port by car or regional bus and board the sailboat with the green sails. Enjoy the company of only your private group and the crew and skipper as you cruise along the coast to Balos Lagoon and then to Imeri Gramvousa Island.  After about 1.5 hours of sailing, reach the lagoon, home to one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. Swim and snorkel in the turquoise water, or treat yourself to some relaxing and sunbathing on the white sand for the next two hours.  Afterwards, enjoy a traditional Cretan lunch onboard the ship. Your next stop is the island of Imeri Gramvousa, where you can enjoy the stunning beach and swim in the crystal-clear water. If you'd like to snap an amazing photo of the Balos Lagoon, you will have the opportunity from the top of Gramvousa after a leisurely, 20-minute hike. At the top, built into the rock, you will spot the Venetian Castle, one of the most famous fortresses in Crete.  The views from here are seriously breathtaking. After a full day of sun and sea, your skipper will start the journey back to Kissamos Port. The duration is 3:30 hours and takes place in the wider area of Georgioupolis, Obrogialos near a cave. Tour guide safety will be on the first boat to give directions on navigation and show you the route while the rest of the rental boats will follow.
