Full description
After being picked up in the morning from your hotel in Chiang Mai city, you will head towards your local hiking adventure. 2 hours after beginning your ascent, you will reach Wat Doi Suthep at the 1,100 meter mark. Here you will start to traverse through highland jungle and the old Hmong Hill Tribe Village near the summit of Doi Pui which you will reach after your 3rd hour. After a hearty lunch at the village and an approximate 1-hour climb, you will tackle the summit of Doi Pui peak. Here we get to enjoy 180 degrees views of the Mae Ping Valley. The trip will be completed by a climb with a 30-minute downhill stroll to the Doi Pui Camp grounds ,where your ride back awaits you. A very nice hike where you get to see a lot. Partly quite steep, you should definitely be in good physical condition and use sturdy shoes. The guide was super nice and humorous, told us a lot and we were able to learn a lot about life in Thailand in addition to nature.

We had a wonderful day with our terrific guide. He explained the history of the temple and other interesting points along the trek. We had small group. Thank you to our wonderful young Denmark friends for making the tour special. If you get car sick, beware. The road ti the top has lots of sharp corners.

Our transfer to the waterfall was very punctual and we were provided with water at the first stop and afterwards. We then had the hike for two with the best guide you could wish for. He guided us through the sometimes quite adventurous "hiking trail" and also told us a lot about the animals we saw. The lunchtime meal was delicious. Also later in the temple we had a great tour with many explanations. Overall, we only recommend the hike with hiking boots - it is not suitable for beginners and you cover around 700 meters in altitude, so you should be fit. A beautiful experience that we will never forget :)
