Full description
Departing from your hotel at 6:00AM, you'll head to your first stop at the foot of the Chiang Mai Hill. At this site, witness the daily ritual of Buddhist monks leaving the temples and walking among the local people to accept alms offerings. You'll also experience how to make an alms offering to the monks yourself.  Following that, drive uphill to visit the Doi Suthep Temple, the most famous landmark in Chiang Mai. It is said that you have not truly been to Chiang Mai if you have not visited this temple. From the top of the temple you can view the pagoda, which is believed to enshrine the holy relics of the Lord Buddha, and shines with actual gold. A viewing platform there also offers panoramic views of Chiang Mai City. After the temple, have breakfast at a local restaurant which offers a nice selection of original, famous, and delicious Chaing Mai noodles. You'll then progress onward to see the hidden temple of Wat Palard, where meditation monks reside and practice their daily routines. This ancient temple is very peaceful and quiet, and is also surrounded by stunningly beautiful nature. The traditional Lanna architecture there reflects the beauty of northern Thai culture.  Finally, peddle onward to the Waroros Market for a food discovery by foot. Wander through the bustling food stalls, and end your journey with a tasty sample of fresh fruit before heading back to your hotel.
