Full description
Get picked up from your hotel in Chiang Mai city center for a day to explore one of Thailand’s original national parks and highest mountain, Doi Inthanon. Perfect for adventurers and culture enthusiasts alike, this tour will feature picturesque landscapes, remote villages, and incredible viewpoints. The first stop is one of the largest and the most beautiful waterfalls in the country, the Wachirathan Waterfall. Over 80 meters high, the power of this waterfall creates a refreshing mist that feeds the surrounding vegetation. The next stop is the stunning 50-meter cascade, Sirithan Waterfall fed by the Mae Klong River.  Next, you’ll stop at the famous twin pagodas: the Napamatanee Don and Napaphon Bhumisiri. Built for the Royal King and Queen, they are located at the highest point in Thailand. The last stop is a visit to the Karen Tribe locale. Learn a bit about the hill tribes people’s culture and way of life in their village of Sobhad.

Our guide was very friendly, humorous and well informed. We visited a Karen village where he showed us some edible plants. He gave us enough time to enjoy the impressions. He explained to us in good English something about the culture and traditions of the hill tribes. Standing at the top of Doi Inthanon in the middle of the cloud forest was unforgettable.

A very nice tour, highlight was the twin pagodas with the gardens there and the waterfall. But you shouldn't expect long, active stanchions, it's more sightseeing. The Karen stop was very short. Our guide Lee was very nice and funny and also told a lot of interesting things during the trip.

We really enjoyed the morning activities of the waterfalls and the Karen village. However, the afternoon dragged out a little with nearly 2 hours at the pagodas. We were informed we could buy lunch here but there was not much on offer so we only really had the option of eating ice cream. I would have preferred to have spent less time here and stopped somewhere for lunch. The highest peak was also a little disappointing as it was just a plaque with no view. They also hadn’t informed us the extra 350 Baht cover charge required for the pagoda.
