  • Chiang Mai: 3-Hour Trek and 10-Kilometer White Water Rafting

    1. Chiang Mai: 3-Hour Trek and 10-Kilometer White Water Rafting

Benefit from pickup at your hotel in Chiang Mai, and then relax in air-conditioned comfort on the 1.5-hour journey to the adventure base camp. Avail of amenities such as lockers, changing rooms with showers, and a minimart to purchase any snacks or supplies. Get a safety briefing and gear up with the state-of-the-art helmets and life vests. Embark on a 3-hour trek through the jungle to arrive at a 10-meter high waterfall, where you can cool down with a swim. Marvel at the flora and fauna, and hear about the culture of Thailand along the way. Benefit from a longer hike if you are a faster walker and would like to venture past the waterfall. Then, take part in a 10-kilometer white water rafting adventure and get an adrenaline rush whilst learning new skills. Brave the class III rapid of the most beautiful section of the river, along with action-packed class III and IV rapids in the middl...

The trekking guide (Moss?) was very informative and taught us about the local plants. Rafting rescue guide Tom was very safe and funny, was nice to be able to communicate English very well.

  • Chiang Mai 3-Hour ATV & White-Water Rafting Adventure

    2. Chiang Mai 3-Hour ATV & White-Water Rafting Adventure

Before starting your activity, a safety orientation and state-of-the-art helmets and life vests are provided. The first 3-hour ATV (all-terrain vehicle) trip is set up for beginner to intermediate-level drivers. It covers roughly 40-kilometers in distance and is a mix of road and off-road jungle terrain. It’s well-suited for those that would like to explore the local countryside and see it a different way. After the ATV, the 10-kilometer white-water rafting will begin. It's broken into 3 sections. The first section is a great warm-up where you learn skills practising with the guides and getting used to the boat. This section has one class III and is probably the most beautiful section of the river with the encroaching jungle offering lots of shade. The second section is action-packed with rapids and is probably the best white water in Thailand. Most of this section is class III and IV r...

The 3 hour ATV ride is perfect for beginners and intermediates. It's a little slow for advanced riders looking for an adrenaline rush. Not a criticism - just an observation for everybody. The elephant park scenery stop is beautiful and the waterfall trek was good fun. We took the 2 person/3 person inflatable kayaks with a guide in each one vs the full raft into the river. This is what they use during low water season. I've used both kinds of rafts on the water before. The inflatables are WAY more fun. I recommended they offer single seat inflatables to more advanced guests. Those types of craft are the most fun.

  • Chiang Mai: Mae Taeng River White Water Rafting

    3. Chiang Mai: Mae Taeng River White Water Rafting

Depart Chiang Mai and relax on the 1.5-hour journey to base camp, where you can pick up any last minute snacks for your white water rafting adventure.  Get a safety briefing and some time to practise with the certified guides on arrival. Then, face the challenge of the Class III and IV rapids of the Mae Taeng River. Experience an adrenaline rush as you venture through the jungle, and get some time to relax before rafting a continuous section of Class III rapids back towards base camp. Avail of the shower facilities before heading home for drop off at your accommodation.

I was picked up by a van from Chiang Mai city to the camp with no problem whatsoever. There was a bit of wait time due to that it’s a shared transfer with roughly 8-9 people. Once arrived at the camp, there was a proper locker provided so I left everything there. Then, we had to drive up 10km to the top of the mountain in order to begin the whitewater rafting. Sak, the guy who prep us with the training was very informative and during the tour he kayaked all along the river to make sure we are all safe. There was 5 people on the raft including myself and the guide, Ta, who sat at the back. He was very entertaining and knew how to save us quickly from the chaos. In total, there were around 4 challenging rapids that was really exciting and after every one of them, there will be 3-4 guys on the shore waiting to throw you a rope if there is an accident which I think is very thoughtful of them that safety is key. I’d really recommend this activity to everyone. It’s super fun!

Excellent trip

My guide was john and the driver was Yeng. Both certainly gave me the vip treatment. Very attentive, making sure I didn’t want for nothing, I was totally spoilt. John spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable of the National Park, the hill side trip, plants, animals. Don’t think there was any questions he couldn't answer. I would definitely recommend this trip. Thanks to john and Yeng for mankins it special

Amazing excursions!

The driver and guides were all wonderful! I both learned a lot, saw a lot, and had an adventure of a life time. The water was low so we white water kayaked instead which was perfect as the raft wouldn’t have worked between some of the tight places. Enjoyed my time immensely!

White water rafting was great fun. First rate operation; capable, competent and safety minded. The ATV ride was awesome. Great camaraderie with the guides. Trails up the mountain provided incredible views and a decent challenge. Would do again.

Service very nice helpful and professional. One of the best trips I've ever been on.
