What a blast! If you are traveling with high school/college aged kids then take a break from all the museums and historical and amazing sites and do this for a day. Our boys (18 and 20) loved St Peters, the Vatican, the Coliseum, the Duomo, etc, but thanked us for a day in the countryside riding Vespas and taking a wine tour. (Just have to be a licensed driver). It’s a 30 min van drive out to the vespas, then a great ride along quiet farm land and wineries. We stopped in 2 quaint hilltop towns and had lunch/tour/wine tasting at a small winery. Good group. Both tour guides Lofti and Matteo were patient and polite entire day. The only caveat I would mention is that the meeting place was tricky to find - even our cab driver was perplexed- we ended up calling the bar where we were supposed to meet and they gave the cab driver more specific directions. So give yourself time to find it and avoid the stress. Otherwise, it was worth every dollar.
We had a private driver to the meeting point where Vespas were kept in a garage whoth Fiats for rent too. I felt very safe because our guide and partner made sure we felt secure on a test drive 1st. Once that was out of the way we hit the hills and it was beautiful. We saw 2 castles, learned about the history of the area, and enjoyed a wine tasting with meal at a winery. The drive was beautiful, our group was friendly, and the guides cheerful... and the motorcycles were a ton of fun to drive! I'd do it again for sure and highly recommend this guide.
An overall fantastic experience. Grazia was a first class guide, as were the staff at the wineries. Great care taken to ensure everyone was able to correctly operate the Vespa, so safety was a priority. The Vespa’s were all relatively new and we had no issues at all. The two wineries were both excellent examples of small production enterprises and the wine tastings and food were great. At Fattoria Bagnolo we were fortunate to have the owner (Giovanna) share her experiences and family history, which dates back hundreds of years. Highly recommended!
We really enjoyed our day. Lucky to be with pleasant people. I failed the Vespa test... so we took a mini Fiat that was seriously antique! There were three flip switches and an ashtray where our radios and GPS are now. For us, this added to the adventure. I wish I could show the pictures! My only request is to offer water at check in and before the last stop. It would be an added touch. All three stops were great! I will define recommend it.
A day out with Emma on Vespa scooters through Tuscany. Was very nice, beautiful surroundings, and with the scooter you clear the Tuscan landscape and therefore experience it more! Photo shoots are part of it, and a nice lunch with many different wines and oils.
