Fuerteventura: Cofete Guided Hiking Tour and Picnic

3. Fuerteventura: Cofete Guided Hiking Tour and Picnic

This excursion consists of two level 2 hikes in the south-southwest area of the island within the Natural Park of Jandia. You will be driven to the southwest end of the peninsula of Jandia, Punta Pecebre, once we reach our destination, you will start your first route. This route will take us northeast along the imposing windward coast, to then enter a sandy area, leaving to our right the remains of an ancient volcanic building called Talahijas, which will accompany us to the ravine of Agua Cabras, which as its name suggests, runs a small thread of salty water (not always active) where goats have been satisfiying their thirst for centuries. Once arrived at this beautiful place we will only miss about 300 m to see the wild and beautiful beach of el Junquillo and la Punta del Junquillo. After a short break you will undo your steps having another perspective of the coast, to return to our vehicle and head to another natural wonder that gives us the Natural Park of Jandia, Playa de Ojos. You will continue your journey with our vehicle to the Punta de Jandia lighthouse where you will see the imposing and dangerous rocky shallows of la punta, after the photos we will head to el Puertito where you will have free time to have a drink in the restaurants or cool off with a swim (at your own risk). Once you have recharged your batteries we will drive with our van to one of the most spectacular and breathtaking scenery of Fuerteventura, Cofete. We will make a stop at the famous Winter House to contemplate it from the outside and then head to the old cemetery of Cofete. After the mandatory photos of such majestic scenery, we will head to the starting point of our second hike; between cardones and a unique scenery we will descend through a ravine full of volcanic formations to the wild coast of Cofete. Once we arrived at the beach, we wil take off our shoes and head south, until we reach an imposing stone monolith known as El Roque del Moro. After a rest we will retrace our steps back to the vehicle to return home after this unforgettable day.

What people are saying about Cofete

Fantastic! I enjoyed this jeep tour a lot, we visited wonderful places. The tour lasts about 5 hours, half of which are spent traveling, the stops are not too long, just enough time to visit the various places, take some photos, swim (where allowed) and leave again. Michele, our guide, nice and helpful, made us have fun all the time, while he told us various interesting notions during the visits to the points of interest. I was satisfied, recommended!

6 jeep at full throttle towards Cofete. The chief-guide Mikelele, the best, took us on the 4-hour tour. 60 euros for a good morning. Super cool Discovery. It is the best option we made since it is complicated with a car and the insurance does not cover rental cars if you have a mishap. The worst thing is that you want to blow your whistle, but we already knew that. Too bad we didn't visit the Winter house.

A real adventure, full of emotions and exciting, complete in the explanations of the places visited and great professionalism and friendliness of our guide, Michele.

Highly recommended, you can see a lot of the island, our driver Jannik spoke fluent German and had a lot of fun at his job, so we had a lot of laughs...

Very good tour! Very nice route, with interesting stops and spectacular views. Our guide Mikel was phenomenal, funny and an experienced driver.
