Fuerteventura: Cofete Guided Hiking Tour and Picnic

1. Fuerteventura: Cofete Guided Hiking Tour and Picnic

This excursion consists of two level 2 hikes in the south-southwest area of the island within the Natural Park of Jandia. You will be driven to the southwest end of the peninsula of Jandia, Punta Pecebre, once we reach our destination, you will start your first route. This route will take us northeast along the imposing windward coast, to then enter a sandy area, leaving to our right the remains of an ancient volcanic building called Talahijas, which will accompany us to the ravine of Agua Cabras, which as its name suggests, runs a small thread of salty water (not always active) where goats have been satisfiying their thirst for centuries. Once arrived at this beautiful place we will only miss about 300 m to see the wild and beautiful beach of el Junquillo and la Punta del Junquillo. After a short break you will undo your steps having another perspective of the coast, to return to our vehicle and head to another natural wonder that gives us the Natural Park of Jandia, Playa de Ojos. You will continue your journey with our vehicle to the Punta de Jandia lighthouse where you will see the imposing and dangerous rocky shallows of la punta, after the photos we will head to el Puertito where you will have free time to have a drink in the restaurants or cool off with a swim (at your own risk). Once you have recharged your batteries we will drive with our van to one of the most spectacular and breathtaking scenery of Fuerteventura, Cofete. We will make a stop at the famous Winter House to contemplate it from the outside and then head to the old cemetery of Cofete. After the mandatory photos of such majestic scenery, we will head to the starting point of our second hike; between cardones and a unique scenery we will descend through a ravine full of volcanic formations to the wild coast of Cofete. Once we arrived at the beach, we wil take off our shoes and head south, until we reach an imposing stone monolith known as El Roque del Moro. After a rest we will retrace our steps back to the vehicle to return home after this unforgettable day.

What people are saying about Cofete

Exhilarating, challenging yet safe, ecologically minded, life-affirming experience par excellence!. You'll gasp repeatedly at the awe-inspiring sights that will grace you throughout a full, unhurried day in the safe, knowledgeable, kind, calm and considered company of the experienced multilingual mountain trekker Miguel Martinez. Delicious picnic, like-minded nature loving multinational participants. An absolute joy to be part of. Many thanks.

The experience is very nice to enjoy breathtaking views, it is certainly not relaxing but on the other hand it is an off-road 4x4 Safari. However, it is about 3 hours by car from Corralejo so calculate this too, the experience itself lasts two hours between stops and cars. Still overall good

we stayed in Corralejo to the north. We had calculated that to get to Cofete it took 1 hour and a half (round trip 3 hours). In doing so we saw a glimpse of Fuerteventura from north to south. excursion to the Top. kudos to Denni our very knowledgeable guide. Recommended.

Great trip. Good guide Paco. Well organized from the 1st minute. Lunch very good including water and wine.

It was really an adventure, very friendly driver and amazing views over the ocean.
