  • From Ajaccio/Porticcio:Ajaccio & Sanguinaires Gulf Boat Tour

    1. From Ajaccio/Porticcio:Ajaccio & Sanguinaires Gulf Boat Tour

On this 3-hour boat tour you’ll take in sights along the north shore of Ajaccio, including the Tino Rossi house, the Greek chapel, the Marin cemetery and the Citadel. Soon you’ll come across the Parata tower and the Sanguinaires islands, a Natura 2000 site. During the tour you’ll enjoy commentary about Ajaccio Bay and the history of the city. Stop at Mezumare, the largest island in the Sanguinaires archipelago, accessible only by boat. The island is home to a number of rare animal species. Enjoy a 1-hour stopover for a swim, or for a walk to the Alphonse Daudet lighthouse and semaphore. You'll also see the ruins of the Lazaretto, used by coral fishermen, in quarantine after returning from Africa.

Beautiful scenery and thoroughly enjoyed the time to walk on the Sanguinaires. However, whilst the tour is clearly promoted as guided in French, it also mentions booklets in at least two other languages. There were no booklets so if you don’t understand French, the only way to learn about the area is to research it yourself.

  • Porto: Scandola Nature Reserve Eco-Friendly Boat Tour

    2. Porto: Scandola Nature Reserve Eco-Friendly Boat Tour

Discover the Scandola Nature Reserve and visit the charming village of Girolata as you embark on a boat tour off Porto on the coast of Corsica. Sail in silence on the waters of the reserve on an eco-friendly hybrid boat and enjoy access to prime seating thanks to priority boarding. Meet the ship’s friendly crew who will assist you with the boarding process and then set off to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Nature Reserve, which is only accessible by sea and subject to strict protection. See coastal caves and observe diverse marine life and seabirds, such as ospreys and peregrine falcons, from a respectable distance so as not to disturb the natural environment. Learn about the reserve’s ecology through live French commentary throughout the tour. Stop for 30 minutes in the remote and quaint coastal village of Girolata, surrounded by the sea and only accessible by boat. Walk around...

Très bonne expérience. À cause d’un temps, notre sortie a été décalée d’un jour, mais nous ne l’avons pas regretté. Les paysages sont vraiment fantastiques et les commentaires diffusés tout au long du parcours sont très judicieux et plein d’humour.

  • Porto: Scandola, Girolata, and Calanches of Piana Boat Trip

    3. Porto: Scandola, Girolata, and Calanches of Piana Boat Trip

Discover the Gulf of Porto by boat and see why this extraordinary natural area is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Begin your boat trip by sailing to the Scandola Reserve, home to beautiful cliffs and a sea bed. Located in the north of the Gulf of Porto, the Scandola Reserve has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1975 and contains majestic cliffs with more than 30 plant species. Afterward, stopover in Girolata, a small village on the edge of a scenic bay. This picturesque village is only accessible by sea or by a small path. Then visit the Calanche de Piana creeks, a dream-like place filled with magnificent colors.

At the conclusion of your experience, you'll sail back to your tour starting point.

The trip was excellent and the nature is incredible but... You promised me an English guide but all we got was Google Translated text on mobile phone which the guide gave us to read. So, we cannot ask anything because the guide did not speak English at all. Google Translate is not an English guide. At least not yet...

  • From Porto: Calanche de Piana Boat Tour

    4. From Porto: Calanche de Piana Boat Tour

Depart Porto and explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Calanche de Piana in the Gulf of Porto by silent hybrid boat to respect the environment. Located halfway between Ajaccio and Calvi, close to the village of Piana, the Calanche de Piana is part of a volcanic complex that towers up to 300 meters above sea level at its highest altitude.

Marvel at the pink granite rocks shaped over centuries by changes in the temperature, strong winds, and sea spray. Discover a series of fantastic rock formations sculpted into spectacular shapes and surrounded by crystal blue waters. Rich with marine life and seabirds, the area also demonstrates a tremendous diversity of rocks in locations that give a particular aspect to the surroundings.

We could not fault the professionalism of this group. The tour was in French, but a crewman sought out the English speakers and translated for them. We absolutely loved it.

  • Calvi to Scandola: 4-Hour Boat Tour

    5. Calvi to Scandola: 4-Hour Boat Tour

Hop on board the new and beautiful Santa Regina boat at the port of Calvi. With a capacity of only 12 passengers, settle in for an intimate and unforgettable ride. Discover the citadel of Calvi by boat, gliding for 1 hour along the west coast of Corsica before entering the UNESCO World Heritage Site, natural reserve of Scandola. Cruise near to the coast and slowly through the beautiful water, allowing you to absorb every detail and even uncover hidden corners of this unique site. Visit the caves, the wild beaches, and swim in the crystal clear water.  On board, your captain will provide you with snorkeling material and direction, in addition to a tasty drink while you enjoy the sun of Corsica. After a stunning 4-hour trip, return to the port in Calvi.

Very interesting tour with a very friendly guide. A nice sized boat. We felt safe at all time.

  • Scandola, Girolata and Calanche de Piana Full-Day Boat Tour

    6. Scandola, Girolata and Calanche de Piana Full-Day Boat Tour

Set sail from Ajaccio or Porticcio on a full-day boat tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Scandola Nature Reserve and the Gulf of Porto. Experience one of the last Mediterranean enclaves to provide shelter for endemic flora and birdlife. Stop in the coastal village of Girolata and explore the secluded village for 2 hours. Find a nice restaurant for lunch or enjoy a picnic on the beach. In the winter, the village becomes a virtual backwater with only about 15 residents.

Then, venture into the Calanche de Piana to discover an outstanding landscape of pink granite rocks shaped over the centuries by changes in temperature, strong winds, and sea spray. Explore the geological diversity and unique location of the rocks that give a particular aspect to the area.

Everything as planned, good explanations and tidy boat, but but I'd suggest a smaller one with a smaller group so you can get a more human experience, dive from the boat (we went to swim on the beach stop) and see the calanques closer.

  • From Porto: Piana Creeks & Scandola Small-group Boat Tour

    7. From Porto: Piana Creeks & Scandola Small-group Boat Tour

Visit one of the best sites of Corsica on boat routes designed to optimize your experience. Get to know Porto's magical gulf, Piana's beautiful creeks and the Scandola's breath-taking reserve. Visit this exceptional site, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Embark comfortably aboard semi-rigid pneumatic boats with 12-person capacity. Thanks to their small size they can enter caves, navigate to the sea bank and allow you to appreciate the beauty of the landscapes. During this outing at sea, you might be able to observe dolphins or other aquatic mammals that might cross your path.

Our Captain JB is an ace skipper and a very good guide. The Calanches and the Reserve are breathtaking. Our boat had a rooftop which was rare among most other boats and therefore fantastic given the roasting sunshine, and timing was perfect. Only downer of the 3.5hr trip was the stop at Girolata which has not much to offer and is the most unattractive place we’ve seen so far in Corsica.

We left as a couple and we had great encounters! The staff are very friendly, there is atmosphere, music with a guide on the history of Ajaccio. However, there were quite a few of us on the boat so it was difficult to keep our distance. At the buffet level, the sommeliers were very professional and generous. Charcuterie, cheese, Corsican products and cakes were served on plates with very generous portions! The wine is excellent. The whole crew were great.

Our tour was postponed one day earlier due to bad weather. For this reason, the tour was only available with a French-speaking guide. I didn't understand a word, but the guide was so nice, friendly (and so handsome ) that I didn't mind at all that I didn't understand. The views were breathtaking. A very successful trip. I recommend it to everyone!:)

Boat trip a little long otherwise great view from the boat to take pictures of bonifacio and little train included in the ticket for access to the top of the village

Very nice boat trip to visit the Scandola reserve, accompanied by a swim stop among the fish.

It was a nice trip. We liked our skipper also. Highly recommended.
