Heraklion: CRETAquarium Admission Ticket

1. Heraklion: CRETAquarium Admission Ticket

Venture into the ocean’s depth with a 1-day admission ticket to the CRETAquarium. One of Europe’s largest aquariums, over 2,000 sea creatures lice the CRETAquarium's 60 diverse habitats. Delve into the caves and crevices of the Mediterranean, where stingrays and rock-like scorpionfish slither about. Pop out into the open ocean, where menacing sharks circle, waiting to be fed. Get up close and personal with jellyfish and schools of vibrant tropical clownfish through shallow, open-topped tanks, which allow a new viewing perspective of well known species.  Above all, gain a new appreciation for the unending diversity of the world’s most mystifying environment. When you’ve had your fill of looking at the ocean’s residents, why not pop in for a dip? The CRETAquarium is, fittingly, right on the beach.

Heraklion: Private Tour to Cave of Zeus & Palace of Knossos

2. Heraklion: Private Tour to Cave of Zeus & Palace of Knossos

Take a day trip from Heraklion to Crete’s important mythological sites. Travel to the palace of Knossos, home to the legendary labyrinth that contained the Minotaur. Climb to the Psychro Cave, a sacred Minoan site associated with the birth of Zeus, and visit traditional Cretan villages as you go. Start in Heraklion, where you will meet your driver and, optionally, your guide. Drive into the hills to Knossos, the large Bronze Age site of ancient Crete’s major city and the political center for the Minoan civilization. Wander through the remains of large palace buildings and past the intricate foundations of what is believed to be the labyrinth built by Deadelus to hide the Minotaur. Next, head into the center of the island to the traditional village of Krasi, home to the enormous 2,400 year-old Platanus tree. Drive further into the hills toward Psychro. After a short climb, admire panoramic views of Crete from the top of the hill before descending into the cave. The cave was an important site for cult worship during the Minoan period and is associated with the legend of the birth of Zeus. Your final stop will be at the CretAquarium to admire the variety of sea creatures that inhabit the Mediterranean sea bed, including sharks and ghost jellyfish. Finish the tour back in Heraklion, where your driver will drop you off.

Very nice aquarium! Good restaurant with fresh dishes, cozy in the shade and overlooking the sea! Skip-the-line ticket can be recommended as there are long waiting times at the ticket office, we were able to get in straight away!

Saved queuing at the cash desk with the online tickets. Very interesting and a great experience, especially thanks to the audio guides. Everything is very well maintained and attractively designed.

The tickets were great, but you still had to wait to get to the ticket booth to get scanned in

A very interesting place, just in time for unfavorable weather as it was in our case.

Not waiting in line to get a ticket. You go directly to the entrance.
