My husband and I were picked up steps from our Airbnb by George and training Andreas. From there we went to small Cretan village cafe at the start of the mountains and had a local herb tea with a meze of cheese/olives/tomatoes. Than we headed up to the top of glorious mountain side. There was still snow, a hut where an elder makes cheese and beautiful scenery that is hard to put in words. We were slowed by a herd of sheep, not once but twice. Personally that it was amazing to see. Be warned you are on unpaved ,rocky roads. Than after our trip up and down the mountains we went to the winery,had a tour, wine tasting and a plethora of food. It was fantastic! After that we headed to Agia Lake for dessert where we could view the mountains we were just at. It was the most incredible, authentic journey through Chania Crete. In the end we were sad to say goodbye to George and Andreas whom felt like family at the end. Can not recommend enough!! It is absolute must to do in Chania!!!

The drive into the mountains and visit to the shepherds huts was very interesting and informative. Our driver/guide Nasos was very knowledgeable about Crete and its history. The provided luncheon was a first class example of local meat preparation. This excursion took us down roads and to places we would never have otherwise found. Thoroughly recommended.

Min veninde og jeg, begge på 18, er meget positive over turen. Vi blev hentet af ejeren af firmaet Nasos, som selv også kører hans gæster. Vi bliver mødt af en meget smilede og glad mand, som ikke bare huskede vores navne igennem hele turen, men også vidste os de bedste steder for os, da vi jo var unge og han lavede et kort til os, så vi let kunne finde rundt til det forskellige steder. Vi var på turen sammen med tre andre, og det var meget vigtigt for Nasos, at vi alle havde det sjovt sammen. Vi var oppe i bjerge og dale og gik selv lidt rundt og fik set udsigte, naturen og de forskellige dyr. Vi var i appelsin-, citron- og olivenlunde. Hos en gammel mand i bjergene og hører hans historien og hvordan han havde lavet den ost vi spiste og på et familie museum, hvor vi så hvor oliven olien tideligere blev lavet. Alt i alt er vi meget positive over selskabet, måden turen blev formet på, maden og de forskellige specialiteter. Vil du nyde din dag i godt selskab kan dette anbefales.
