Very enjoyable day-trip. I was picked up at appointed time and we firstly visited a Monastery before proceeding towards Zeus Cave. It requires some climb to reach the cave but we were given enough time. After that we visited a pottery workshop and local tavern with decent food and fair prices. In the afternoon we continued to Knossos palace where we had a guided tour but also enough time to explore on our own. In the end we were split in two buses in order to reach our hotels faster. During the entire day our guide Kati told us many interesting stories about places we visited. She was very professional and full of knowledge while our driver Yiannis did a great job navigating the roads which can be challenging sometimes. If you want to learn about the history of Island, get some break from Cretan beaches and heat (Cave tempearture is around 15 degrees celsius) then this is the right day-trip for you.

The AC in the bus broke after our first stop but the situation was handled as good as they could and we got a replacement bus soon- although it was a hassle to swap buses but the guide did her best. We visited nice places, Zeus’ cave is a must- although one has to climb quite high up but the cave is worth the effort.

Was a great day one thing the climb to cave is not for the faint hearted but it’s a great achievement once there last fifty yards path is very uneven lunch is at restaurant but no menu or prices really available so ask before you decide Altogether though the day was excellent
