Dalyan: Full–Day Mud Bath & Turtle Beach Tour from Fethiye

1. Dalyan: Full–Day Mud Bath & Turtle Beach Tour from Fethiye

Enjoy a relaxing full-day tour of Dalyan on Turkey’s Lycian Coast, sailing by boat across the turquoise sea to Turtle Beach, officially known as Iztuzu Beach. Departing from Fethiye, admire the remarkable rock cut tombs of the Kings of Kaunos along the coast. Founded around the 9th century B.C. on the border of the Kingdom of Lycia, Kaunos became an important Carian city around 400 B.C. and its culture reflected aspects of both kingdoms. The tombs were designated for the kings and other powerful people of the city, and filled with food, money, jewelry and other valuable items. Marvel at the Dalyan Canal as it weaves its way from Köyceğiz Lake to the beach, a peninsula jutting out from the mainland. Famous for the endangered loggerhead turtles that lay their eggs in the sand, as well as blue crab, the beach is now protected to help conserve the turtles, making it out of bounds to the public from May through September. Jump into a mud bath for an indulgent and therapeutic wallow before your return transfer to Fethiye.

Full-Day Dalyan Boat Tour from Marmaris with Lunch

2. Full-Day Dalyan Boat Tour from Marmaris with Lunch

The Dalyan Delta, with a long, golden sandy beach at its mouth, is a nature conservation area, home to plenty of wildlife, including sea turtles. On your visit to Marmaris, enjoy a full day on the water with a boat tour of the area. Sail down the river for a short time and stop to enjoy the mud baths and sulfur springs. Then take time to eat lunch before your boat continues to explore the maze of channels in this tranquil dream world. High on the cliff face, at a bend in the river and above the fascinating ancient harbor city of Caunos, observe the 2,000-year-old Lycian tombs that were carved in to the rock. Then land on the unspoiled sands of Turtle Beach and relax, with the opportunity to walk around, sunbathe, swim, and more.

A really full and fun day. Starts with a boat ride on a larger boat to Dalyan, drinks and food are available on board and staff are all really friendly. There is also a swim stop on the way. After lunch (served onboard) there is a transfer to river boats to Turtle Beach and you get about an hour to explore the beach and waters. Then you continue round past the tombs and to the mud baths. There is lots to do so timing is tight but perfectly doable in order to be able to enjoy each part. Really good value and well organised. Would highly recommend.

Amazing staff, Amazing trip, long day and remember to bring cash because in some of the places we stopped it wasnt possible to pay with card. We were two girls who went and we had a really good time!
