The tour was a good introduction to the Kakadu and NT history. The cruise along Yellow Waters billabong was beautiful with lots of bird spotting along the shorelines. The lunch was a little underwhelming; consisting of cold cuts and salads, I also missed out on the scenic flight optional even though I was one of the first people to place my name in cue. Would of preferred more time to explore Nourlangie independently as this part felt a little rushed.
The tour itself was very good and we had an excellent tour guide. However, the pre-trip administration was appalling. We could not get through to the local operator (AAT KING) so we did not know until we were actually on the trip whether lunch was provided. There was also no pick-up information and the promised drop down list of locations did not exist. Your customer service desk could not help us either. Very poor indeed.
Our driver and tour guide was really knowledgeable and created a great friendly vibe on the bus. The stop at Edith Falls was really quick and we were back on the road again. It is a long hot day. Katherine gorge was very special but really hot. The bus is pretty tight but air working which was important. A bit off a once in a lifetime memory visiting the gorge. Loved the stories and history.
Our tour guide, Betty was fantastic. She was extremely knowledgeable, and informative. Her stories were interesting and entertaining. She made the land part of the tour memorable. The cruise of the Harbour provided a different aspect to Darwin, very informative. Well worth doing,
I think that there should be a more detail description of the island, and items (food, snacks, lots of water. One of the ladies was kind of shocked that the island was so basic. We did enjoy a nice chat with one of local ladies, she was very informative.
