Full description
Gently roll down the Elbe on a relaxing boat trip to Pillnitz and back. Sit back and relax as you float by the scenic landscapes of the Elbe Valley. See the Albrechtsberg castle, the Eckberg castle, the Lingner Castle and the Blue Bridge. Start your tour by boarding a historical steamship in the Terrasanufer, located in the heart of Dresden. Admire the stately manors of the Loschwitzer district. In the 1920s and ’30s, the district was the most expensive living area in all of Europe. Marvel at the vineyards that line the banks of the Elbe. Pass by the 4 famous bridges of the Elbe. Listen to the onboard commentary and learn about the history of the area. Take a peek at your steamboat’s engine. Look down into the engine room and watch the pistons as they propel the boat forward. This is an authentic steamboat, not a replica. Be mesmerized by the soft glow of the evening light at your return to the old city center. Enjoy food and drinks available for purchase onboard.

It was still summer when I booked this trip. The trip was then planned for the end of September. Unfortunately, I didn't consider that the sun had already set by the time we left, so we weren't going into the sunset. (My fault) The ship itself is very beautiful, you can see the paddle wheels from the inside through a pane and you can also examine the pistons (I think that's what they are called). The service is ok and the order is processed quickly. This tour is definitely recommended for the summer.

The trip was super relaxing, the scenery in the setting sun was unique, the service on board was quick and friendly. Unfortunately, the crew did not provide any information about the sights - we were referred to a corresponding app, but we still had a view of the landscape we then preferred the smartphone and therefore unfortunately drove without information.

The steamer trip was particularly beautiful in the evening hours. Due to an accident, we only arrived shortly before the start and didn't get a seat outside, inside it was unbearable like in a sauna. Unfortunately we could only stand on deck. Reservations would be better or to make the indoor area bearable in the summer (remove fan, air conditioning or window that is draught). Apart from that, it was very pleasant and we had a beautiful view of the slopes of the Elbe all the way to Pillnitz.
