Admire the tower of Glendalough, the wild beauty of the Wicklow Mountains, and the medieval city of Kilkenny on a full-day guided tour from Dublin.

Depart from Dublin and make your way directly to Kilkenny, a town that was once the medieval capital of Ireland. Enjoy walking down the cobbled streets and visit the Black Abbey and the Cathedral of Saint Canice. After that, travel through the Wicklow Mountains to your next stop.

Visit the monastic site of Glendalough. Hollywood Blockbusters like ‘P.S. I Love You’ and ‘Braveheart’ have been filmed here. Explore the area renowned for its ruins, magnificent lakes, and waterfalls. Finally, head over to a sheepdog farm and watch a sheepdog herd with his master. Look at the Border Collies using a tactic called “The Eye” on sheep. Witness a shepherd and his dog at work and watch how they herd a flock of sheep.

Godfrey was an incredible guide! Had excellent stories to tell, was very entertaining, but also knew when to give us free time to explore. The tour was timed great and we appreciated the mix of hiking and seeing downtown Kilkenny. Would definitely recommend to someone wanting to get out of Dublin for a day, or for travelers who have never seen the Irish countryside!

It was fantastic. 9 hours but the time flew. I highly recommend it to spend a different and interesting day, enjoying nature with gorgeous landscapes, culture of city and an original experience in a farm (no spoiler, but there was a surprise here, a really amazing opportunity to do something you'll probably not repeat and never forget).

A 20-minute drive from Dublin and you're in the Ireland you know from the pictures: green, rolling, occasionally a little misty and mysterious. A beautiful trip with Glendalough as one highlight, the medieval settlement there, but also the beautiful walk to the 2 lakes, along streams and waterfalls. Another highlight was the demonstration by the sheep farmer and his border collies, great interplay between humans and animals. We were less enthusiastic about Kilkenny. A nice town, but many empty buildings and shops.
