Private Tour of National Park Plitvice from Dubrovnik

4. Private Tour of National Park Plitvice from Dubrovnik

Enjoy a private sightseeing day trip with a local guide. You will be taken to the first and the largest national park in Croatia which was founded in 1949, and has also been on the list of UNESCO's world heritage since 1979. Plitvice lakes are a unique natural phenomenon: 16 picturesque lakes which are connected by a number of cascading waterfalls. Travertine barriers, which were made in a period of about ten thousand years, are one of the fundamental features of the park. The lakes are renowned for their distinctive colors ranging from azure to green, grey, or blue, depending on the quantity of minerals or organisms in the water and the angle of sunlight. The National Park covers an area of 29,482 hectares. The high forests, which in some places seem almost primeval, contain a wealth and variety of animal and plant life. There are deer, bears, wolves, wild boar, wild cats, small game and many kinds of birds.  With the use of about eight kilometers of pathways and wooden walking trails around the lakes, it is possible to see all of the 16 lakes and waterfalls by boat, train or on foot.

What people are saying about Dubrovnik

Very helpful staff lots of time for kids with information and very well at communicating to keep calm while under water. The day we went had bad weather and diving was nearly called off but we went a head if only for 30 minutes as weather too bad but at least we got to dive and it was amazing. Marco was a real good instructor and took photos for us under the water. Great experience and has given us a bug for diving, highly recommended !

Great experience and lovley instructor. The experience was really good and something I'd love to do again. I did struggle a little bit with the breathing but the instructor was patient and gave me enough time to get used to it and continue. Would recomend although maybe if thinking about doing this possibly try in a pool first to get used to the breathing? Would go again!

Very good first experience a little nervous at the start but our instructor reassured us.
