River Tara Rafting in Montenegro: Full-Day from Dubrovnik

5. River Tara Rafting in Montenegro: Full-Day from Dubrovnik

On our full-day excursion to Montenegro we leave Dubrovnik early in the morning and drive to the rafting camp that’s situated on the banks of the River Tara. We’ll have a breakfast of local Montenegrin dishes when we arrive. Breakfast will be followed by a short instructional program in river rafting and then we’ll be transported by jeep to the point where our rafting adventure begins! The River Tara runs through Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and forms the border between the countries in several places. The Tara River Gorge, which is the longest canyon in Europe and second in the world to the Grand Canyon, is 78 kilometers in length and 1,300 meters high at its tallest point. It is part of Durmitor National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Shortly after we begin rafting, we pass through the most attractive part of the canyon. We’ll see waterfalls and wild springs along the way and make stops for photos and swimming. After rafting down 25 kilometers of the River Tara, we’ll arrive at the rafting center, where you’ll have time for a warm shower and lunch. You’ll be treated to local specialties as you enjoy lunch overlooking the river. When we’ve finished lunch we’ll head back to Dubrovnik, arriving in the late afternoon.

Rock Climbing Lesson in Dubrovnik

6. Rock Climbing Lesson in Dubrovnik

There is a lime stone rock 15 minutes drive from Dubrovnik town equipped with sports climbing paths with different difficulty levels. Grades range from 4b to 7a, so it offers a quality day of climbing for various climbers, and is also a very good place to have your first climbing experience. Your instructors will give you a short briefing on rock climbing basics, safety, use of equipment, and provide you with harness, rock climbing shoes and a helmet. Tour guides are experienced climbers, so you can learn how to climb in a safe and controlled environment. Don't worry, they climb with guests with a style of climbing called "top rope", where the rope runs from your instructor, who is belaying you up through the anchor at the top of the climb and back down to your harness. This allows you to focus on movement, technique, and getting stronger instead of worrying about falling. Get involved and create a great memory of your holiday.

Brilliant kayaking trip… great way to explore a little of the local area and an island! Your guises were fab. Good there was an option of a longer or shorter route. Good pace. About 8k in total. Water and a wee fruit snack was helpful. Take cash, the beach bar at one of the stops doesn’t accept cards so we missed out on a wee ice cream n coffee.

Does what it promises: the light, the views, the horses, everything exactly as in the photos. Fantastically beautiful ride with a nice companion. There were only two of us with our guide and the horses made a super well-groomed impression and weren't as messed up as we all too often know from such offers. All in all, recommendable!

The tour was amazing! We had the perfect day for it and our tour guide was great :) We would definitely recommend doing this when going to Dubrovnik!

We are beginners and the instructors were very patient, explained how to climbed very well and motivated us a lot. That was a great time

Really great experience seeing the most beautiful spots and hidden gems of Kolocep Island.
