After a short instructional session, you will paddle beneath the city walls until you reach the hidden cave beach known as Betina, where you will take a short break for swimming and snorkeling. From there, paddle around Lokrum Island and explore its caves. Upon your return, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a magnificent sunset in the direction of the Elaphite Islands. We had a great experience which ended with an amazing sunset outside the city walls. Our two guides were brilliant and gave us information on history, wildlife and life in general in Dubrovnik and Croatia. We managed to have a stop off in a cove for snorkelling and stay ahead of some other larger groups.

  • Dubrovnik: City Walls Sunset Guided Tour

Discover the famous city walls of Dubrovnik, a beautiful reminder of distant medieval times. The city has preserved its city walls despite changing trends that once suggested any types of fortifications are obsolete and redundant. Dubrovnik is among a small few well-preserved medieval cities with 2 kilometer walls surrounding the town allowing for many breathtaking views. Admire the terracotta roofs and narrow streets from above. In addition, enjoy the clear vista over the Adriatic sea, revealing just about any boat on the horizon. This view explains why the city was successfully defended for centuries and since 1979, Dubrovnik is UNESCO protected. The town survived many wars, including the recent Homeland War from 1991-1995, but Dubrovnik was renewed in a manner that the damage is not visible. Discover why the city of Dubrovnik has inspired artists, writers and photographers as you exp...

The tour was well worth the money. The guide provided many insights and personal stories which made everything very interesting. So much history but given in chunks easy to digest and keep your attention. I would never want to walk the walls without the input of a local like our guide.

It was a romantic cruise. Essentially around Lokrum Island in the bay of Dubrovnik. The sunset was spectacular. The wooden boat, a Karaka, was a replica of historical ships used for trading. It has sails unfurled in the photos, but not on the cruise, only diesel powered. The food was a seafood buffet was extensive and sufficient. Dessert was also scrumptious. The price tag was, compared with restaurant food in Dubrovnik on the high side. The staff went the extra mile to contact us. Overall an enjoyable evening.

  • Kayak and Bike Tour in the Elaphite Islands From Dubrovnik

    10. Kayak and Bike Tour in the Elaphite Islands From Dubrovnik

The day starts in Dubrovnik’s main port Gruž in the morning. From there you’ll ferry to the island of Lopud. After spending time discussing kayakng technique and safety, you will launch toward the island of Ruda and then paddle to Sipan and its harbor town of Suđurad. As the highlights mention, midway through you trade your paddles for pedals and explore Sipan island, if not the most popular, then the most beautiful one in the Elaphite Archipelago. A traditional fishing island, with just two villages, one road and a bus line (yes, there is a bus connecting the two) although they are only 5km (3miles) apart. Before hopping on the saddle, you will discuss equipment and routes, which are customizable to cater to different physical abilities and bike across the middle part of the island which is mostly flat with old olive growths, vineyards, stone villas and wild fig trees (a perfect desse...

Be aware the activity level is high; this tour requires quite a bit of energy to bike and kayak across the islands. The kayaking takes close to an hour one way so be ready to exert yourself. While on land you do get to enjoy a quality local lunch and a swim in a beautiful secluded beach, the atmosphere is lovely but it takes effort to get there to enjoy it. And time is of the essence: We were rushed quite a bit to hurry on the bike and kayak to make sure we caught our ferry. This created quite a bit of stress and pressure from our guide which was unappreciated.

Really lovely tour to see some beautiful islands off the coast of Dubrovnik. Take the guide's advice and get a taxi (don't walk!) to the beach on the other side of Lopud - it's worth going for the view and a swim but the walk over the hill is a lot! lunch is simple but tasty and you can have as many glasses of wine as you like all day.

Nice trip! If you want to see many medieval buildings and amazing views it will be nice choice. Prepare comfortable shoes for climbing up to islands
