Explore Edinburgh at your own pace with a hop-on and hop-off open-top bus tour. Enjoy the onboard commentary that describes the history behind the city. Stop at locations like St Andrew Square, Johnstone Terrace, the Royal Mile. See sights like Edinburgh Castle and Grassmarket.

Board the bus and begin your city adventure. Compare Edinburgh's Old Town, where families lived in cramped conditions and rubbish was thrown out of the windows, to the elegant Georgian New Town, with its 3 main streets and square at either end. Hear about the hangings that took place in the Grassmarket as you marvel at the impenetrable Castle Rock above you, and hear about historic attempts to capture Edinburgh Castle. Drive along the Royal Mile, which joins Edinburgh Castle to the Palace of Holyroodhouse. Use the 24-hour ticket to hop on and off as you please. With great visitor attractions, museums, galleries, and restaurants to suit every taste and budget, Edinburgh's got it all! Buses run every 30 minutes, making the following loop: Tour Stops: 1. The busses were a great way to get around the city and see all the sights. Most had a recorded audio that was a great informational source to know what to look for, others had a person narrating as we drove. I preferred the audio recordings, one of the commentators was very bland and uninteresting. I just wish it was longer! They say your ticket is good for 24 hours but the busses only run from 9am to about 3:30/4pm. If you stop to do a few activities along the way then it's just not enough time.

Really easy to buy and use, all staff were very helpful, got a really good sense of the geography and key facts about the city and felt like you ‘knew’ Edinburgh a lot more at the end than the beginning, which is kind of the point ☺️ Would recommend doing at the beginning of your stay so you can orientate yourself (Also key tip - we were able to get same day castle tickets from one of the ticket touts / helpers when they were sold out for days on the castle website

The red bus drivers were great so helpful. Went on the green one for the live commentary it was ok but a bit boring compared to others I’ve been on over the years. I went with a friend and had told her how good the live commentary was so was a bit disappointed
