Full description

Departing Edinburgh at 9:30 AM, your tour takes you west past Stirling to Glengoyne distillery. Here you will be introduced to the simple but magical process of turning barley, water, and yeast into whisky. From here, you take a scenic drive to the shores of Loch Lomond for a tasty pub lunch and the chance to sample some local beer. After lunch it is recommended to take a short walk to the viewpoint overlooking the loch before heading towards the second distillery of the day. Deanston Distillery is a converted cotton mill on the banks of the River Teith has many interesting features and produces some unique whisky flavours. After a relaxed afternoon visit here you return to Edinburgh with the stories and flavors of single malt whisky fresh in your mind. You will return to Edinburgh at approximately 6:15 PM.

Glengoyne visit was amazing. Great tour guide, well explained, great demonstration and fantastic whisky. This was the best part of the tour. Deanston was more of an industrial distillery, not so great experience than Glengoyne. The tour worth it price and a great experience. The van was clean and comfortable.

During our time in Scotland this was probably the activity we enjoyed most. We got to see the Scottish countryside while learning about its history from our amazing guide Jim Scott. Jim was knowledgeable and oh so entertaining. He really made the trip! We loved the whiskey but also really enjoyed our other stops—to see the Kelpies and the UNESCO World Heritage Bridge. Truly a day to remember!!

really nice day tour, two whiskey distilleries and a lovely lunch stop. Check the prices for tastings to avoid surprises, it will add to your bill. 1x 16£ and1x 8.50£ pp. Buying whisky at the distillery will give a 5£ discount. The lunch stop is short, so better order quickly. Tour gives a nice first impression of the highlands. We arrived 1 h earlier back in Edinburgh then originally planned, so we could have had plenty of time for a longer stroll at Loch Lomond to explore. Or maybe another place to visit.
