Highlights
  • Marvel at the beauty of the Scottish Highlands
  • Explore the ancient city of Stirling
  • Visit one of Scotland’s best known whisky distilleries
Full description
As you drive north from Edinburgh on this 9-hour excursion you’ll marvel at the engineering miracle of the Forth Railway Bridge. Then, as you travel through Stirlingshire, your guide will bring to life the turbulent times of William Wallace, dramatized in the film Braveheart, and explain his link to the area you're passing through. Your first stop is the city of Stirling, where you'll have ample time to visit the stunning castle (admission not included) or enjoy a walk along the atmospheric, ancient streets that surround it. You'll then have the opportunity to visit one of Scotland's best known distilleries, where you’ll learn how they make their whisky and get a dram of their Highland Single Malt Whisky (optional extra). The tour route takes you past Loch Lubnaig and then through the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, home of the Highland rogue Rob Roy. Stopping at some of the best view points, you’ll be able to take in the view from the An Ceann Mor platform at Inveruglus and then walk the shore of Scotland’s biggest loch at Luss.

Loved the tour very much. Michael was very knowledgeable and fun. Despite the Covid-19 impact in most of the region, he managed to accommodate the route and added additional views as we were a very small group and were quick to visit and covef the castle. A note to all that are considering Scotland as staycation destination, it is somehow quiet but nonetheless most of the sight can be visited and enjoyed, possibly not at full splendour as in a regular August, but a great experience definitely.

This was such a fun experience! Not only did I get to see parts of Scotland that I've always wanted dreamed of, I also saw places I'd never considered. The driver/tour guide was hilarious, and kept the trip light hearted and fun. Definitely worth the expense, which was very reasonable. Next time I think I'll do the Locke Ness Monster Tour.

Not totally clear on what we would have in our package.

We enjoyed what we toured but I was given the impression we would be stopping at a couple of additional attractions: Doune Castle and Kelpies. The countryside was beautiful and our driver fun; there was no doubt he loves Scotland. Definitely worth the trip; just need to be clear on what is included.
