Seville: 2-Hour Tour to Discover America

3. Seville: 2-Hour Tour to Discover America

Once upon a time, Seville was hailed as an important port of America, because everything going to the New World had to be loaded through this port. Not to mention the fact that everything coming from America (gold, silver, tobacco, cacao, vanilla, corn, tomatoes, potatoes, turkeys) had to be taxed here as well. Seville thus became a de facto capital of the world, with people from all over the world sustaining this cultural hearth: living and trading here, exchanging goods, books, ideas, techniques, art and customs with one another. This cultural intermingling still influences the city, although remnants of this seedier time are not always easy to find. Let the tour take you to the red light district of the 16th and 17th centuries and learn about the rogues, the local myth of El Arenal and more.   Head over the Triana Bridge to discover an enchanting suburb. Lose yourself in the festivals and traditions of the town while you marvel at flamenco dancers and local pottery. Then take a riverside stroll as you ponder the Saint Inquisition that made a home here for over 3 centuries.

Excellent Seville Art & History Tour in Two Hours

We very much enjoyed our tour with your guide Angel on Sunday. I would highly recommend Angel and the tour to any other interested parties. He was informative, educational, fluent in English and gave an enthusiastic, warm description of the art, culture and history of the area. This was an excellent introduction to the city before venturing out on our own. We even stopped with him for a welcome beer in the midday heat (in his time, not ours)!

Reyes (sorry if spelt incorrectly) met us promptly on time at our apartment, and she adjusted our tour when we told her we were visiting the Cathedral/Alcazar later that day. She was also very happy to take photos of our group, which was greatly appreciated. She was knowledgeable and friendly, and walked at a great pace for our group.

Very nice stroll in the city, because in Seville, everything is designed for cycling without any danger. The meeting point is a bit difficult to find, as it is a very small street. Our guide, Cristina, was great !!

The guide took his time and told everything he knew about Sevilla. He was very nice and friendly. We would book it again!

very interesting guided tour entertaining and varied
