Full description
Start your day by meeting your guide at the local fruit stand “Frutera Flores” in the town of Luquillo. Here, your guide will pick up a variety of fresh local fruit for the tour, and you have the opportunity to purchase some local fritters and/or a fresh fruit smoothie. After this stop, follow your guide in your rental car to the majestic El Yunque Rainforest- without a doubt Puerto Rico’s greatest Natural Wonder. It is the only tropical rainforest, the most biologically diverse, and the most studied forest in the US National Forest System. After an interpretive hike through natural trails lined with beautiful flora and fauna, and some river wading, arrive at a hidden gem found in the heart of the rainforest. This breathtaking segment of the 29,000-acre forest is like a natural playground. Here, have the chance to swim in the natural pools, refresh in waterfalls, slide down an exhilarating waterslide, rope swing into the river, jump from different rock formations, and enjoy fresh local fruit with a view. Along with all of this excitement, you will also have time to simply relax to the sounds of cascading waters and take in the beauty of this very special place.

It was one of the best experiences I’ve had! Jessie was amazing! Kind, friendly, knowledgeable, professional, he reassured everyone in their times of need. I felt safe had lots of fun! It was beyond my expectations! Maxine was wonderful as well! She was sweet, knowledgeable and funny it was amazing being in their group. They communicated with each other, made us feel safe and welcomed. The whole group was at ease enjoying ourselves & we got to know more about each individual in the group due to how they set everything. I would recommend this to anyone & I would most definitely come again! They also recommended a place to eat afterwards & the food was delicious! Worth it all!! Thank you so much !

My wife & I had an amazing time, we got muddy and wet and loved every minute. Brings some good hiking shoes or good trail runners, they will get muddy but you’ll wash them off before you head to your car. The guides bought some fresh island fruits, which allowed everyone to refuel. The hike is fun, there are some areas where you’ll scramble some rocks but all doable and the guides are there if you need them! A++ to Jessie & Patricia for their love of the rain forest and how committed they are in making sure we were safe and enjoying ourselves. In addition to the amazing hike, we would like to honor the locals that lived at the entrance of the trailhead. They’re doing an amazing job at preserving the land.

What a treat this excursion was! The guides were incredibly knowledgeable about El Yunque and took us on a beautiful hike to two natural pools. For anyone taking this hike, I'd HIGHLY recommend wearing a sturdy pair of hiking shoes. There will be many muddy parts (it's the rainforest!) and there will be ascents/descents that are very slick.
