Very interesting history along with guided tour of hotel, going to several parts of the hotel a wandering visitor either would not have access to or would not get the history of. Our guide, Joseph, the mayor of the time of the beginning of the hotel, was very well informed and gave an entertaining guided tour.

Overall, I was underwhelmed with this tour. I really wanted to love it but I think we spent more time seeing pictures from a binder of the hotel VS actually seeing the hotel. We saw two important rooms/aspects of the hotel and then the rest was walking through crowded hall ways on our not so private tour. The tour guide was really knowledgeable and liked the topic a lot. It was clear! But I wished we’d been able to see more of the “unseeable” things (a room, servants quarters, ballroom etc). This tour took place mostly in crowded hallways and narrow landings. If you’re looking for an actual tour of the hotel itself, this isn’t it.

Very nice guide but spent 15 minutes of one hour tour having us introduce ourselves.... also obvious by end of tour that we could have visited second floor ballrooms simply by taking elevator to second floor and visited restaurants simply by poking our heads in the door.. had hoped to see more behind the scenes areas of hotel. The information the guide provided us was excellent and his delivery was very entertaining. Did find that the tour started at an inconvenient point.
