I had a great time on this tour. It had the right balance of history, interesting sites, and hot spots to save for later. For a fit guy in his mid 30s, the tour was not very strenuous, which was really nice because I still had some energy after the tour to continue exploring. The tour guide, Michael was very knowledgeable about the area and history and chatting with him was very enjoyable. Recommended!

  • Classic 4-Hour Bike Tour of Munich

    2. Classic 4-Hour Bike Tour of Munich

Get to know Munich on a bike with a 4-hour guided tour. Meet at Marienplatz 15 next to the Spielzeugmuseum. Here, you will be introduced to your guide and other group members, get acquainted, and hear you about the amazing history of Munich and the buildings closest to that part of the Old Town. After about 15 minutes, walk up the street to a garage location to get your bike. Once you are ready to roll, head out on the city, stopping at the iconic old town, discovering the English Garden, watching the Isar River surfers, and much more. About 2 hours into the tour, stop for a break in Munich's most popular beer garden. Here you will have a chance to eat, drink, and socialize for about an hour before carrying on with the rest of the tour.

Our guide Ziggy was great. Born in Munich but raised in South Africa. Returned to Munich 20 years ago. Loves the city and it shows. We had 13 riders on a beautiful day. Old Town Munich is quite busy but Ziggy kept us all together and safe at a good pace. Provided plenty of information at each stop. Excellent bike tour.

  • Munich by Bike: Half-Day Tour with Local Guide

    3. Munich by Bike: Half-Day Tour with Local Guide

Starting from the Hauptbahnhof (Central Train Station), this half-day bicycle tour is a great way to see the city of Munich. Guides are local Munich residents who know the best routes, the best stories, and the best spots to stop for a quick drink. The first stop of the tour is the Neoclassical square, Königsplatz, often called Munich's Acropolis. A few minutes away is the impressive Odeonsplatz. Both are the legacy of King Ludwig I of Bavaria, a 19th-century monarch who wanted to make a grand city for kings. He actually succeeded in making Munich a great city for cyclists. From Odeonsplatz, you'll cycle through the picturesque royal gardens to the Englischer Garten, Europe's largest city park, where nudity happens to be legal. Then the tour stops at the famous Chinese Tower beer garden for refreshments. Cruise along the lovely banks of the river Isar, which leads back into the heart ...

We loved the bike tour through Munich! Our tour guide (sorry we can't remember her name - young lady with brown hair who studied anthropology) was great! She gave detailed information about the city - we learned about the origin of Munich, explored important landmarks, and even stopped at a Beer Garden to re-energize. With this bike tour, you get to explore more areas than you would be able to on foot. Would definitely recommend!
