What people are saying about Estreito da Calheta

After an initial briefing by our guide Paula, we took the Stenella out to sea off Calheta and soon saw beaked whales. After a few minutes of rest and some explanations by Paula, we came across a group of pilot whales that were also great to watch. At the end there were a lot of otherwise shy striped dolphins to see. It was a very successful trip on a Sunday afternoon in October. We can highly recommend it. But you should keep in mind that you are not in a zoo and there is no guarantee that you will see this or that animal. The guides and the driver have support from a spotter on land so that they always try to show something. The additional explanations are wonderful for acquiring some knowledge and seeing the water world with different eyes.

Nice trip. A more expensive one, but it's all worth it. They treat the animals very respectfully and our guide could tell very nicely about the animals. Recommended!

The speed boat has a great advantage when moving longer distances (it travels at about 50 km/h) and is surprisingly comfortable.

Exciting whale whatching experience. Saw a lot of dolphins and 2 different whales !! :)

very dedicated team that cares about animal welfare
