Full description
Day 1: Fes, Ifrane, Medilt, and Merzouga Departing from Fes you will begin your ascent through Ifrane, a winter ski resort in a totally un-Moroccan style which was built by the French in the 1930s to resemble a Swiss village. From there you will visit the cedar forest in Azrou, where you will be able to view the local monkeys. Following that, you will begin your journey across the Middle Atlas Mountains. Most of the day will be spent winding your way through the beautiful forests, springs, jagged rock faces, and Berber villages, as you cross the Atlas Mountains and begin to descend towards the Sahara Desert. At the half-way point you will stop for lunch in the town of Midelt, which is famous for its fossils and rocks, before continuing towards Merzouga. You'll eventually reach Merzouga in the afternoon at around 5:00PM. There your guide and camels will be waiting for you, and following some rest you will start a camel trek across the sandy dunes of the Erg-chebbi. After one hour traveling across the desert you will reach a camp where you will spend the night in a Berber tent. At your desert shelter, your camels will be hobbled and some mint tea will be served. Following dinner, you can watch the stars before spending the night in your tent. Day 2: Merzouga/Marrakech In the morning you can get up early, take a walk over the sand dunes, and watch the sunrise from just behind the Algerian border (which is about 50 kilometers from Merzouga). You'll then take a camel back to the hotel, after which you will depart towards Marrakesh by passing through the famous "Road of 1000 Kasbahs" and the High Atlas Mountains, with a few quick stops along the way. You'll eventually reach Marrakesh, where your tour will conclude.

The first day is very nice. You drive through a beautiful landscape, make a few stops where you can take photos, among other things with the monkeys. The evening in the desert is really beautiful, the camel ride is great and the guides take a lot of time and take beautiful photos of you. At the same time, there is plenty of time to enjoy everything. The second day, on the other hand, is not so nice, because you sit in the bus all day and unfortunately only take breaks for the toilet and food. Unfortunately, that's a shame because the landscape here is also very beautiful, especially in the mountains. We can agree with the other reviews and recommend taking the 3-day tour.

The first day everything was wonderful, very comfortable transport and friendly driver, the evening in the desert a unique adventure. Too bad for the 12 hours of the next day in a van with 12 other people to say the least too tight. I highly recommend choosing the 3 day option. Overall very positive experience anyway!

Hashim was an excellent guide and the night in the desert experience was great, but I agree with the other reviews that the second day is not very appealing…they should just call it a one day tour with a ver long bus ride to marrakech on the second day
