Your Middle Atlas day trip will begin from Fez, from where you will head towards Ifrane. You will discover that the landscape varies with altitude, and after crossing the agricultural plain of Saiss with its olive trees, you will arrive to a fruit-growing region. The region grows apples, pears, apricots, and peaches, and is located around Imouzzer Kandar at an altitude of 1,000-1,300 meters above sea level. You'll then ascend further to some majestic cedar forests, which sit at 1,500 meters. Moving up higher to 2,000 meters above sea level, the landscape plateaus to give way to a vast steppe landscape. Each season has its charms and colors, with spring between March and May according to the altitude being especially beautiful.

Day 1: fes -middle atlas- ziz valley- merzouga(ergg chebbi) After getting picked up from your hotel in Fes, head southeast to Merzouga, passing through several cities in the Middle Atlas mountain range along the way. Stop at Ifran, also known as "the Switzerland of Morocco", to admire its alpine-like architecture and picturesque forests before heading to Azrou and the famous cedar forest where you can spot some Barbary apes if you're lucky. Travel through the desert town of Arrichidia and notice how the scenery changes from mountains to deserts and Berber villages as you make your way to Merzouga, stopping for lunch along the way.  Upon arrival in Merzouga, receive a welcome glass of mint tea before checking into your riad. Day 2: merzouga-fes Rise early today to watch what may be the best sunrise of your life. Afterward, trek back from the camp to the riad where your breakfast will be waiting. After breakfast in your riad, depart for Fes. Pass through the stunning rose gold dunes of the ziz valley and back through Errashidia to reach Fes by the evening.
