Here you will see alligators, turtles and dozens of species of birds. Enjoy a wildlife drive in the Big Cypress National Preserve. Tour the sawgrass prairies of the Everglades backcountry. Alligators, turtles and birds abound in front of a backdrop that is reminiscent of the great plains of Africa. Next, take a nature walk through an ancient forest of towering cypress. This area is home to bromiliads, orchids and a variety of colorfully adorned flora. During the afternoon break you will enjoy an excellent lunch at a waterside restaurant in the heart of the Everglades. You will be offered alligator appetizers in addition to several delicious lunch entrees. Relax and check out the scenery aboard a 60-minute boat cruise after lunch. The cruise navigates the shallow, mangrove-lined waters of the 10,000 Islands in the Everglades National Park. Manatees, sea turtles, dolphins, osprey and a variety of other marine life thrive here. This was an excellent excursion. Julio was our guide for the day. He picked us up promptly at Flamingo Gardens. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Enjoyed his sharing of the environment and eco systems throughout the day. The Safari was pretty much as advertised with the exception of the air boat ride. It was advertised as a 1-hr air boat ride. This is the main reason I booked the All day safari as my husband has always wanted to do this but wouldn’t because he really wanted to spend a whole day or afternoon on an airboat. The one-hour ride seemed to be a good compromise vs cost for a charter ride. The 1 hr ride was actually about 25 minutes from the time we boarded to disembarking. The ride was good but short. There were 8 of us total on the boat. The rest of the hour was spent with a guide and 3 alligators. The Nature walk was good and informative. The Riverboat Cruise was good and about an hour and 15 minutes among some of the many islands. Lunch excellent.

One of the best tours I’ve been on!

Loved this tour! Well worth the money. Our guide Julio gave a us a wonderful commentary during the drive as well as the nature walk. He made sure we saw every bit of the wild Florida offered, even a horned owl that took over an egrets nest. What a treat! As for the airboat ride SO MUCH FUN! Birds and alligators galore. The highlight of the excursion was the speedboat ride off of Chokoloskee island were a small pod of dolphins raced us in the bay. SO MUCH FUN !

Great but short on organization

The guide was excellent and the overall tour very good. However the local organization was bad. Our pickup location was changed from our hotel to a location 20 mins from our hotel, then we picked up a couple several hundred yards from our hotel. We were required to leave our hotel a half hour earlier for pickup, after arriving at our hotel after dark the evening before. This doesn’ Make sense. The airboat tour by the park ranger was short’ and we saw little or nothing of interest. However the boat tour was fabulous, and we had the dolphins swimming in our wake. Also saw a lot more.
