Booking tickets online was extremely easy. My brother and I had a little difficulty with the parking instructions, but once we figured out where the parking garage was located, we were good to go. The ferry departed on time, and the crew was friendly and helpful. There was indoor and outdoor seating. We saw bottlenose dolphins on the return trip which was fun. Plus we saw active dredging of the shipping channel, tugboats at work and the USS Yorktown with aircraft on its deck. The ride to the fort was smooth, and the ranger talk was chock full of historic information. It was cold, raw and rainy the day we visited so we were glad the time on the island was not too long. We had all the time we needed to explore, and it was great that a park ranger approached of his own volition to engage us in further discussion. We learned even more. Overall, it was wonderful despite the weather.

Boat ride across Charleston Harbor to Ft Sumter, and return to Patriots Point; right next to the USS Yorktown Naval Carrier. The ride was good (pleasant seas) with a fairly knowledgeable Volunteer to point out the other famous landmarks along the shores. The time at the fort was rather limited but the Rangers were helpful and well informed. An exciting and fulfilling adventure in History...

The trip to the fort was pleasant. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. However, due to confusion with your web site, we were not able to watch the flag raising at the fort. Nevertheless, the person getting us on board the ferry was wonderful in accommodating us.

Friendly and knowledgable Rangers, great ride out to Fort Sumter, awesome historical site with plenty of Information available through the rangers. Good book and gift shops onsite. Plenty of time to see it all.

Felt we were rushed through and due to shop only allowing a few in at a time, people weren’t able to buy souvenirs (ran out of time). Seems we were barely on the island an hour.
