We are not wine connoisseurs at all, but we definitely love wine. Graça was our guide and she was absolutely lovely. Unfortunately I didn't have time to grab breakfast so I couldn't really enjoy the 2 glasses of fortified wine at our first stop at Blandys! Maybe if they had put out a bit of food/cake it would have helped it go down, especially at that time in the morning. After that though we went up into the mountain vineyards for the ‘table' wine tasting and lunch. This was amazing! 6 wines to sample from with chorizo, Ilha cheese and meat skewered on a bay stick and bbq in an outdoor hut, they keep bringing out more kebabs until you say you're done, but save room for the delicious home made dessert too. Then we went for a stroll in the vineyard. After that we went to Seixal where we sampled 2 more table wines, with a selection of home made foods which were delicious in a stunning location overlooking the sea. Our final stop was 2 more fortified wines, thank you Graça! We loved it ❤️

A great tour for anyone interested in wine and viticulture on the island. Those who eat appropriately for their species will also get their money's worth at lunch - there is a lot of beef on the laurel skewer. If you don't like meat, you should inquire about alternatives beforehand.

We loved spending the day with Sofia & her car Sheila! She’s a lifelong citizen from Madeira and marvelous storyteller. She was the perfect guide to help us discover some of the best Madeira wines & Madeirian wines as well. Between the stops, she would tells us stories and fun facts about the island, both ancient as well as up to date information.
