What a great experience on this tour. They picked us up right at the ship. They were ontime. We rented 3 Tuk Tuks for 1/2 a day and did the Toboggan experience. They dropped us off in town where we wanted to have lunch and do some shopping before returning the ship. If we had not asked for this, we would have been returned to our pick up location. What a beautiful island this is. What a great way to spend some time there.

For us, tuk tuk is the only way to travel in and around Funchal. It can negotiate the narrow winding streets of the old town with ease and allows one to feel part of the surroundings, soaking up the atmosphere. We didn't want to take the cable car to the Monte Gardens and the tuk tuk proved the perfect alternative, winding up the hillside and affording us the same, spectacular view - without the queues. Similarly, the queue for the toboggan ride down the hill was very long and in any event, it wasn't something that appealed. The tuk tuk followed the same route down, alongside the toboggans and we were able to take some great photos. The time saved allowed for a tour of the old town & coffee on the seafront. Without a doubt, it was our guide and driver, Luiz, who made the whole experience so enjoyable. Exceptionally friendly, he obviously enjoys sharing his extensive knowledge and does so in an interesting and engaging manner. We had 3 excellent tours with him & would highly recommend.

Luis is a very good tour guide! This tour is definitely worth it, it’s very fun going in the tuktuk and around the island. Luis will tell you information you never knew (from a local) of the island, between monte and old town Funchal. He will go above and beyond to make sure you have a great trip. He offered suggestions for restaurants and also offered for me to message him on my holiday if I had any questions about Madeira.
