Filipe was not only an excellent driver but he was also very nice and knowledgable and told us a lot us useful tips for the hike but also about Madeira in general. He has a lot of great restaurant recommendations too, so don’t leave this tour for the end like we unfortunately did. Great value for money, 100% recommend! :)

Self guided hike. The driver of the transport vehicle Luis did an excellent job explaining the route and what to be cautious of. He was so accommodating, friendly and professional. He ensured all 8 participants in the vehicle were comfortable and engaged. He even addressed everyone by their first name. So happy we utilized this service.

This is a fabulous hike and one I would highly recommend (with Do it Madeira) - especially if you're lucky enough to get good weather, which we did:). Filipe is a knowledgeable and energetic guide with a passion for Madeira - we came away with lots of info and some great tips for great places to eat and other trips. The Sun Rise was unbelievably good - today it rose above the clouds and created a spectrum of colour. Out photos are fabulous! The path is hard where the path rises to the top of Pico do Ruiva but there is a timely cafe stop here and another at the end of the walk. This trip is a must-do for anyone who enjoys mountain scenery, and can handle a moderate amount of challenging
