We enjoyed our tour and everything about the booking was very good. That said, we had not nearly enough time to do both the gardens and the Palace. Also, had we known about it, we would have immediately headed to the line to rent an electric golf cart. They are in very limited supply and this would have been the way to see all the gardens although hardly enough time to stop and enjoy all of the gardens in detail. The Palace was doable in three to four hours and we enjoyed that although it is a shame that it is so dark in many of the rooms. The paintings are dark as well and the room lighting is bad to horrible. Sometimes the only light comes from large windows which put so much glare on the paintings they are impossible to see. But overall, it is a tour not to be missed. The audio guides provide excellent information and to us were mandatory. Our host was very accommodating and made sure everything ran like clockwork.

What people are saying about Gallery of Great Battles

I really enjoyed the bus service to Versailles. We were picked up at multiple designated locations. I had a chance to meet other travellers including a lovely couple from Canada. When we arrived, we were provided tickets for the gardens from 11-1pm and then we met our tour guide outside the main palace to get our tickets for inside. The artwork in the palace is lovely especially in the hall of mirrors. Download the Versailles app so you can listen to the many stories about the royal family. Around 3pm, you will exit the palace and have another 1.5 hours to look around before leaving at 4:25pm. It is a quick visit and the place is huge. I suggest renting a golf cart to make the most of your time.
