Ride the only aerial cable car in all of South Africa and enjoy amazing views along the way. This Swiss-designed and installed gondola seats a maximum of 6 guests. Ascend to the top of the mountain in 6 minutes. As you travel upwards, you’ll pass above a nature reserve. Spot giraffe, zebra, and small antelope from your bird’s eye view. Once you reach the top, you’ll be able to choose from a number of restaurants. Have a drink at the Lookout Bar and sip as a cocktail as you marvel at the spectacular view of the eastern side of the region. Walk “The Dassie Walk,” a 1,200-meter walkway which circles the circumference of the mountain top. Stop at the informative waypoint along the way and learn about the surrounding area. Take the cable car back and return to the starting point.

On this half-day tour, your tour guide will collect you from your accommodations in Johannesburg and take the Lion Park, a natural habitat located not far outside of Johannesburg.  Upon arrival at the Lion Park, you will enjoy 1-hour open vehicle safari drive where you will have the opportunity to view these wonderful animals up close and personal. After morning pickup from your accommodation in Johannesburg or Pretoria, you’ll head out to the Lion Park. Your registered tour guide will take you on a tour through the Lion Park, a natural habitat only 45 minutes drive from Johannesburg. The park is home to more than 85 lions, including the rare white lion, among other carnivores like the cheetah, hyena, and wild dog. Afterwards, you’ll head in to Pretoria for a city tour. The capital of South Africa, Pretoria is home to a bevy of historic sites. Visit the Union Buildings, headquarters of the South African government, and wander through the beautifully terraced gardens. Then it’s off to the Voortrekker Monument, which commemorates the Great Trek, a mass movement of Afrikaner Boers who resented British rule. Next on the itinerary is the Paul Kruger House Museum, which showcases artifacts related to Paul Kruger, the 3rd president of South Africa from 1883-1900. Before the tour ends, you’ll view some of the architectural standouts of the city, like the Ou Raadsaal, Palace of Justice, and Capital Theater. Afterwards, you’ll be driven back to your accommodation, having seen the urban and rural highlights of a vibrant capital city.
