    You will depart from Tbilisi early in the morning, in the direction of Kazbegi. On the way, there will be some very interesting places to visit. Ananuri Fortified Castle Ensemble is a sixteenth-century castle complex on the Aragvi River. The fortress stands beside the famous Georgian Military Highway, overlooking the large Jinvali Lake.     After breakfast, your guide will meet you at the reception of your hotel and take you to your first stop of the day, the ancient capital and religious center of Georgia - Mtskheta. In Mtskheta you will see two UNESCO World Heritage Sites; the 7th-century Jvari Monastery and the 11th-century Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. After exploring Mtskheta you will continue on with your tour.  You will drive north towards the Northern Caucasus along the well-known Georgian Military Road stopping along the way to explore the 17th-century architectural complex Ananuri before reaching Kazbegi which is the main town in the region. From Kazbegi you will take a 4WD vehicle through the beautiful valleys and woods to reach Gergeti Trinity Church.
