Olivia was a fun and energetic guide. She clearly loves what she does. She was a great driver, too! This is a long day but it’s interesting to experience the differences between the wild gardens of Monet and the structured gardens at Versailles. Enjoy!

Fred was a fantastic tour guide. Very knowledgeable about both Monet and the Palace of Versailles. Went back and forth whether to book a trip with or without lunch but so glad we booked this trip. The quaint restaurant was superb. The opulence of the palace was mind blowing however, the highlight for both of us was Monet’s lily pond/ garden and house tour. Simply amazing and the transportation was very comfortable with a great driver Florian. I would recommend Fred and this tour without reservations

Leave Paris behind for a scenic drive to Normandy with your knowledgeable driver-guide to discover the beautiful home of the "Father of Impressionism" – Claude Monet. Enjoy the quaint charm of Monet's home as you admire the precious collection of Japanese engravings on display. Stop at the Nympheas studio, home to the Foundation's Shop, where you can choose to pick up a souvenir. Monet's house and gardens exceeded my expectations. There was so much in bloom for May, and the gardens are beautifully maintained. The house is also beautiful. I thought the cost of $121 was a bit high considering it was basically just a ride out to the location and back. It's about one hour from Paris, so we had a total of two hours to explore the house and gardens and gift shop. It would have been nice to have time for lunch, but alas we did not.

  • From Paris: Small Group Tour to Giverny & Versailles

    5. From Paris: Small Group Tour to Giverny & Versailles

After a pick-up from your guide at your Paris accommodation, board the minivan for the drive (roughly 1.5 hours) to Giverny where you will then walk in the footsteps of Claude Monet. When you arrive at Claude Monet's house and gardens, you are free to wander through the rows of vibrant flowers in front of the home and stroll over to the water lily pond and Japanese bridge, which you'll recognize from some of Monet's most famous paintings. Take in a variety of vegetation, including cherry trees, tulips, roses, wisteria, weeping willows and irises. Inside the house, you can see the kitchen, dining room, living spaces and bedrooms and admire his collection of Japanese prints on the walls. The leader of the Impressionist movement of the 19th century, Monet introduced more perception, emotion and light into art of his age, and he spent almost 40 years developing his Giverny property. You can...

This was a wonderful tour of both Giverny and Versailles with seemingly perfect timing being first in the doors for the opening of the Gardens and missing most of the crowds that grow throughout the day.

This was a fabulous trip! You definitely need a full day to do everything and not feel rushed. Take your time in Monet’s gardens but don’t be late for lunch. The museum is smaller than you think it will be, so take some time to sit in its gardens and explore the village.
