Visiting the great pyramid and going inside was a dream come true and unforgettable. As a solo female traveler I debated whether I should go with a guide or explore on my own. Going on the advice of other female solo travelers to Egypt I decided to book a guide. It was one of the smartest things I could have done. My guide Apo El Khir was a godsend. He is so knowledgeable, not only about the history of Egypt, but about practical matters. He knew the best time to visit the pyramids to avoid the fog, he knew how to make your way through the many vendors, how to get tickets inside the great pyramid, he knew all the best photo spots and did not mind being my photographer for the day. He actually really knows how to use a camera and the pictures I have from this experience I will treasure for a lifetime. If you book this tour you have to ask for him by name. He is funny, street and book smart, and completely professional. He really cares about his client and I’ve made a friend for life!
Ahmed is a really great tour guide. He is funny, engaging, and interesting-easily held our attention for the whole time of the tour. He picked us up promptly at our hotel and drove us to Giza. We had a chance to go into the Pyramid of Cheops with Ahmed taking our pictures when we came out. He is super knowledgeable and personable. Next we went to the plateau where he showed us the amazing views of all three pyramids. It is hot so definitely bring water. Then we went to the Sphinx and Ahmed had us pose for some really funny pictures. Then we grabbed a bite and finished by touring a papyrus art workshop/store. We were back at our hotel by 3pm. Definitely a great intro to Egypt!
We were collected on time from our hotel and taken for breakfast on our last minute request. Abo was very welcoming and friendly from the beginning and this did not change. Once at the Pyramids in Giza we were given an in depth history lesson and wonderful tour. Abo is an excellent photographer and we now have dozens of great (and some whacky) pictures which are very special. Abo is passionate about sharing the marvels of Egypt with visitors and will leave you with memories that will last a lifetime. Bring water and a sun hat. Thanks Abo!
We met Hammi and our driver who picked us up from the hotel, and drove to Giza. Hammi was very informative, explained us a lot of interesting things that we didn't know. He gave us as much time as we needed to explore for ourselves and all the trip was in a very good atmosphere. I would really recommend this tour for whoever wants to know more than what's written in Wikipedia and wants to explore the great pyramids and the Sphinx
can basically share the other reviewer. guide was friendly and correct. I was actually by myself so it turned out to be a private tour. He briefed me well in how to avoid the notorious salesmen around the sites. the only thing is that we could have stopped at some of the smaller pyramids before going down to the Sphinx. if you finish early at the viewpoint, do not be shy to ask for it. I am sure it would not have been a problem.
