Full description

On this tour, you will experience the shimmering lochs, scenic mountain views, and romantic and historic castles of the western highlands. From Glasgow cross the Firth of Clyde, passing Dumbarton's famous and imposing rock fortress. The first stop is the pretty conservation village of Luss, on the 'Bonny, Bonny Banks' of Loch Lomond. Here you can walk along the shore or stay to admire the village. Pass several dramatic castles and lochs as the tour climb into the Highlands. Make a stop for lunch at the fishing town of Oban. Journey on a southern route that takes you past the spectacular Kilchurn Castle, majestically situated on Loch Awe. Our final stop is Inveraray, the historic seat of the Duke of Argyll, where you can choose to either visit Inveraray Castle (April-October only) or explore the town’s Georgian houses and wide streets. Return to Glasgow via the Rest and Be Thankful pass.

Andy was knowledgeable and funny, we loved him! Overall we enjoyed the trip, enough toilet breaks and time to see villages, day was sunny and warm. The only down point was that most castles we saw were quite far away, so to make pics we had to zoom our cameras. If you're short sighted bring your glasses

We were so surprised at the quality of this tour based on the inexpensive fare we paid. We just arrived in Glasgow, were suffering from jet lag, and needed an easy day, but we didn’t want to waste our vacation time sleeping in the hotel. Charlie was exceptional. He taught us interesting history and balanced the trip with humor and local information. We were made to feel as if the tour had been customized for us! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Very happy with this 10 hour tour. It was a gentle pace. Plenty to see no rush, relaxed guide. The weather was appalling which is just one of those things. The walks would have been a lot more fun on a dry day and the scenery more interesting in colour. But sure it’s scotland!
