Drive 2 hours to Golubac Fortress, a 14th-century structure located at the entrance of the Iron Gate National Park. Explore the Green Zone of the fortress and admire the widest point of the Danube below. Less than an hour long drive from Golubac Fortress, take a short walk in order to reach Kovilovo viewpoint from which you will enjoy the view of the entire Valley of Donji Milanovac, where the Danube is 2 km wide. Continue with a scenic drive through Iron Gate Gorge, the longest gorge in Europe, that consists of four gorges and three valleys. The most beautiful gorges are Mali and Veliki Kazan, where the Danube narrows to just 140 meters and reaches a depth of more than 90 meters. A pleasant 2-hour drive will take you to the first stop, Golubac Fortress, located at the entrance of the Djerdap Gorge where the Danube is at its widest and nature is at its greenest. It was built at the beginning of the 14th century as a border stronghold of strategic importance. Hat Tower, formerly used as a pier of the Fortress, nowadays is the main symbol and trademark of Golubac Fort. Tour continues with a one-hour drive through the picturesque Djerdap Gorge with short stops on the way for taking memorable pictures. Your tour will start from Tekija and will last for one hour. Me and my wife booked the tour and all information about tour was very clear. Our tour guide Konstantin was very informative and having good knowledge about the places we covered plus history of Serbia. This tour is worth visiting and recommended for those who loves history, nature and long rides . Traditional lunch is must try.

It was a beautiful day out and the Golubac fortress looks dramatic against the Danube river and a relaxed day and speed boat ride in Danube and a lunch by the river to finish it off is a perfect day and our guide was informed , pleasant and gave us enough time to explore the place
