Located on the Boulevard Montmartre is one of Paris' more curious attractions. Don't go just for the waxworks though, as the historic Musée Grévin goes beyond lifeless likenesses, capturing the evolution of French culture over the last century. Here's how!
The baroque Grevin Wax Museum was built in 1882 by the journalist Arthur Meyer and named for its first artistic director Alfred Grévin, who became totally immersed in the project.
"Pauvre Pierrot" is a 15-minute story about a love triangle created by French inventor Émile Reynaud. Made in 1892, it was eventually screened alongside two of his later films.
The grisly model of Charlotte Corday murdering radical revolutionary Jean-Paul Marat contains the actual knife and bathtub used in the 1793 killing!
You can't miss it! The elaborate Hall of Mirrors was built for Paris' Universal Exhibition in 1900. To this day it remains one of the museum's most popular exhibits!
Bringing the little ones? Skip the Medieval torture tableaus and head to Children's World. There they can play amongst characters from their favorite films, cartoons, and comics!
The museum offers reduced ticket prices for off-peak visits. Arrive between 11:00AM and 1:00PM on any day, 3:00PM and 5:00PM on weekdays, and 4:00PM and 6:00PM on weekends. You can book in advance too, but remember that off-peak tickets are only valid between the given times.
The Musée Grévin is open from 10:00AM to 6:00PM on weekdays and 9:30AM to 7:00PM on weekends.
Visitors can reach the Grevin Wax Museum via Metro lines 8 & 9 to Grands Boulevards, or by taking bus routes 20, 39, 48, 67, 74, or 85.
The food and atmosphere was good and it was easy to find. However, they kind of rushed out the food where we hadn't even finished half the starter before the mains were brought out and hadn't finished those before the desserts were ready. Maybe it was because it was Christmas and they had a lot to do, but still felt a bit too rushed :/ The server/waitress were really helpful and kind though ^^.
Fantastic evening in the hard rock cafe,it was very very busy evening and with us booking made sure we'd no waiting time, the food was delicious and the staff were amazing, especially Mark and Alex who really looked after us.
Daniel our waiter was great!!!! Very friendly and great service. We were seated immediately and all staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. As always the food was great and plentiful.
No issues at all. Was seated right away and discretely given a special menu. My server treated they same as everyone else whether using a voucher or not. I would definitely use it again.
Probably one of the best value for money that you can get food-wise in Paris. Take care before ordering anything not included in the pre-arranged menu. it's very pricey.
