Begin the day at your hotel and head directly to beautiful Halong Bay in the Gulf of Tonkin. Translated as the "Bay of the Descending Dragon" in the local language, Halong Bay consists of a dense cluster of 3,000 limestone monolithic islands, topped with thick jungle vegetation and rising spectacularly from the ocean. Several of the islands are hollowed out by enormous caves, and surrounding the islands are the floating villages of fishermen who spend the days plying the shallow waters for fish and mollusks. The tour begins with a dreamy cruise through the stunning scenery of the bay. Enjoy a seafood lunch (served with Vietnamese traditional dishes as well as vegetarian options) while cruising through the emerald waters, passing by the Dog Stone, as well as the Burning Incense Islet. Afterward, visit the Fighting-Cock rock and the stalagmites and stalactite of the Heavenly Palace (Thien Cung Cave).
