My mom and I loved everything about our day in Versailles! It was easy to meet the group, hop on the train and pick up our bikes. Before heading to the gardens, we had time to browse a local food market and pick up fix-ins for a picnic, which was lots of fun! We then spent the rest of the morning and afternoon exploring the sprawling landscape of Versailles by bike (we saw so much and were able to cover a lot more ground than had we traveled by foot!), pausing along the way to learn about the history of this landmark from our informative guide*. We certainly earned our picnic, which was delightful. At the end of the cycling portion of the day, we skipped the line and were able to experience the rest of the Versailles palace at our own pace. Great value! *I cannot remember our guide's name, but he is English, running the 2019 NYC marathon, and works as a translator for business professionals. Hopefully that will identify him and earn him credit for a wonderful experience!
We have done a number of tours to France and this was without question the most professionally conducted, thorough and outstanding experience we have had to date. Our guide was truly knowledgeable and was able to convey his true passion for this area in an exciting and inclusive way that had us captivated. His attention to detail and the care he gave to everyone on the tour was exemplary!
It was the highlight of our holiday trip!!! Cecilia was our guide, super attentive to everyone taking thw tour: curious kids as well as grown ups. I signed up with my friend and had lots of fun riding the bikes, putting together our picninc basket and just learning and walking with the group. I would 1000% do this again!
Our guide was phenomenal. Extremely knowledgeable. Courteous. Funny. Attentive to detail. We had a wonderful time!
