I swear this said it had an English guide but it was 100% in German. The guide was kind and spoke fluent english, everyone seemed to enjoy his commentary and was laughing but I didn't understand. The staff on board was very friendly and accommodating!

We went on the 1 hour tour with English app dowloaded, which worked pretty well and paralled what I could make out of the German narration as well (it was activated by GPS location on the phone). The only dissappointment was some confusion over which boat to board: there were 2! Big and small. I wanted to do small at first but they redirected it to me ("it's better and you will see more things and still see the small boat things"). However they didn't even get close to the smaller canals between the buildings which we really wanted to see, it was not clear if we would have seen them on the smaller boat, people didn't speak enough English to clarify.

Some important things you must choose the 1 hour Harbor Tour or Warehouse Tour you can of course buy two vouchers to do both or consider the 2 hour tour which seems to include elements of both. It might be one of several types of boat you end up with the harbour takes larger boats and the warehouse small ones. For English you must download the great app which follows along and streams the tour. Lookout for the Rainer Abicht boats your voucher is your ticket you don’t need to swap for a ticket.
