Mallorca: Visit the Caves of Hams

1. Mallorca: Visit the Caves of Hams

Journey to a world of crystalline caverns with tickets to Hams' Caves in Porto Cristo, Mallorca. Discover the mystical chambers of the caves and marvel at their magnificent stalactite formations. Experience the natural acoustics during a classical concert on the Sea of Venice, an underground lake. Witness the caves' peculiar fish-hook-shaped formations. Explore the 3 main caves, starting with the round cave. Step into its botanical garden with many species of free-flying birds that are native to the island. Experience its special micro-climate that promotes its distinct vegetation. Enter the blue cave to watch the educational documentary, Discovering the Past, presented with blue lighting using cutting-edge LED technology. Learn about the history of Mallorca, its first inhabitants, the formation of the Hams' Caves, and their discovery. Admire Samson’s pillars, the plains of Fra Mauro, and the Pit of Hell, where, in a natural auditorium, they will present Genesis, the history of life, a frenzied time-lapse from the Big Bang to the present day, projected onto the very rock-face of the cave.  See the 12 galleries of the main cave. On the underground lake of the Sea of Venice, enjoy a musical show inspired by the Carnival of Venice with laser lights projected onto the walls of Hams' Caves accompanied by Mozart music.

The Caves of Drach Full or Half-Day

2. The Caves of Drach Full or Half-Day

On your trip to Mallorca, don't miss this visit to the Caves of Drach, located in the town of Manacor. After being picked up, head straight to the Caves. These caves are an absolute wonder, formed millions of years ago by the water pressure of the Mediterranean Sea. The Caves of Drach comprise 4 separate and gigantic caves full of impressive stalagmites and stalactites. The most interesting attraction of these caves is their 177-meter-long underwater lake, known as Lake Martel. While inside the caves, admire a light show synchronized with the melodies of a small orchestra. Finish your visit with a stop at an exhibition on Manacor's pearl farming industry. Learn all about the manufacturing process of these classic gems. Or, if you choose the full-day option, continue with a visit to the Caves del Hams, famous for its fish-hook-shaped stalactites and stalagmites—the cause of their unique shape is still unknown. Then, finish off your full-day tour with a visit to the beautiful Porto Cristo, on the eastern coast of the island.

This trip is very good value for money and one I would highly recommend. There are a few steep staircases to climb so a basic level of fitness is required and trainers are a good idea! The views are breath taking and there are plenty of photo opportunities. The guide is in English but there are separate language handsets available for those who need a different language. If you do not have a car (like us) then the best way to get there is by taxi although there can be up to a 30min wait during peak season.

The beginning was difficult, we would be picked up directly in Palma and the bus had no signs that meant we had to ask every bus for ages. The tour is highly recommended. The guide is really great tells everything you should know. You have to see hell really great, will definitely book again, can only recommend it to anyone where Mallorca is.

Tour guide spoke 5 languages and was engaging. Had ample time to see all the attractions and had 1.5 hours in Porto Cristo to eat lunch and swim :) overall: highly recommend this tour.

super beautiful caves, definitely recommended. tip: sit on the left at the concert so you can see the most. we skipped the boat trip because you see just as much on foot.

Amazing experience and very educational for our 7 year old son and would be for older children too. Loved it and would definitely visit again
