    Explore Hoa Lu, former capital of Vietnam in the 10th and 11th centuries, and Tam Coc. 07:30: Pick-up from the Old Quarter of Hanoi, relax in air-conditioned comfort on the 2.5-hour journey southeast, approximately 70 miles (100 kilometers) from Hanoi. Upon arrival, see the 2 main temples of the former royal city, including the main temple to Emperor Dinh and the temple to Emperor Le in the foothills of the Den Mountain. Explore the historic sites of the Outer Citadel, separated from the Inner Citadel by the limestone mountains. it’s ideally to visit Mua cave for you to catch a panoramic view of ripe rice fields - challenge with hiking 500 steps. Admire peacefully imposing and stunning beauty of Ninh Binh. Continue to Tam Coc for lunch before cruising the Hoang Long River by traditional sampan. Pass the curious karst mountains carpeted in lush vegetation, and paddle into hidden caves to see geological formations. Round off your day with an air-conditioned transfer back to Hanoi.

    Really good tour. It's nice to get a little active. The guide was very approachable and friendly. Food was quite good too, included veggie options. When it's not in season you see mud rather than the green fields on the pics but honestly it's still very worth it!

    I paid extra for a small group tour (max 9 people) but when we showed up, it was a giant group of at least 20 people. The tour was chaotic in some parts as we were taken on a tour group route that had many other large groups visiting the same rest stop and buffet restaurant. The lines were crazy for food at the rest stop and lunch place with no order at all.
