San Sebastián: La Rioja Day Tour

1. San Sebastián: La Rioja Day Tour

Discover the immense beauty and delicious tastes of the La Rioja wine area on this guided day tour. Experience local wineries and exquisite wines, visit medieval towns, have a 4-course Riojan meal, and more. The tour starts at the Barrio de la Estación de Haro, known for its many wineries, close to the railroad tracks in order to transport wine barrels more easily. Visit a wonderful 100-year old winery and taste a selection of its best wines, from the classic to the new and daring. Wine is not the only magical liquid produced in these lands, La Rioja is also a producer of olive oil – here you’ll enjoy a delicious tasting of this liquid gold. It’s then time to visit 2 charming villages. First, San Vicente de la Sonsierra, built on top of a hill. Take in the unbeatable views over the Ebro river, the sea of vines, and the hills that dot the valley. Next, it’s on to the popular Briones for a bit of Spanish authenticity: streets suspended in the past, an imposing Gothic church, and old sandstone buildings. In La Rioja, lunchtime, and gastronomy in general, is a sacred thing. Visit a restaurant that specializes in traditional Riojan cuisine. Partake of a delicious menu and enjoy more excellent local wine. Next, visit a small family winery to learn its working method, which adds great value to Spanish wine culture. Enjoy a tasting and see why this winery is considered one of the most prestigious producers in the country.  Finally, be driven back to your accommodation satisfied with a truly Spanish experience.

From San Sebastian: Rioja Private Day Trip with Wine Tasting

2. From San Sebastian: Rioja Private Day Trip with Wine Tasting

¿Are you ready to enjoy an incredible day visiting unique and singular wineries while traveling throughout the Most Beautiful Wine Valleys we have in our territory? YOU´LL remember it for good! Everything is suitable. We can visit a high-tech winery, traditional or 600 years old cellars. If you just want to drink different wines along the day? Send me a message to create your experience. The winery we will visit has centenary cellars, tunnels of more than 400 years old, used in the past as a form of defense against a possible invasion. Today they are put to other uses and let me take you there and show them to you. It is fascinating. We will also visit some more modern wineries where they all have something in common: excellent quality wine and meeting people who are passionate about what they do. You will personally meet that person who is crazy about their wines and you will feel that spark and love for wine passed down through the generations. We also will walk in the vineyards, with a glass of wine, understand the terroir with 5 sense experience. Apart from the good wine we will immerse ourselves in The Wine Valley, which means that during the whole day we will enjoy idyllic places with incredible views, full of colours, traveling mists, rocky mountains and charming villages. Usually.... we visit and support only the best quality wineries, non the biggest industrial wineries. Let us know if you have some preferences but also we can suggest unknown amazing wineries where they make very limited edition wines for you to have the most special experience possible.
