Guided tour to a lava tube. Really impressive. Well organized with the packed lunch and dinner too. Unfortunately, the distance to the liquid lava in the evening was far too far away, you can't see anything without binoculars. Our tour manager was great even though she only spoke English as advertised. Everything is expensive in Hawaii. So you do it or you don't.

The tour was very nice and above all good because we could see the glow of the lava as a highlight in the evening. We had actually prepared for a lot more hike (also in terms of equipment) than was actually necessary. That was a shame. We got a lot of hikes and driven here, where one could and should have walked occasionally to experience nature.

This was a 12-hour activity but it didn't feel like it. Our tour guide, Geneviere, was excellent! She made sure she told us all about the flushable toilets. She was also very knowledgeable and shared a lot of interesting information with us. The private lava tube that we visited was amazing! I also liked that it was a small group. There was only 10 of us on the tour. I highly recommend this tour. The price is a a little high but it's worth it...especially if you get Geneviere as a guide.
