Great experience- great team and the fellow participants were also very nice. Overall we had a great time and lots of fun with the organisers as well as the horses! I have had a wonderful time during the trip, very relaxed and enjoyable. More important to mention is that the skipper Monos and his assistant John are so responsible and friendly, which gave me so much extra pleasure besides the leisure trip itself. It is a 4.5h trip only but the nice memory will for sure last forever in the life. So, definitely I will recommend my friends to take this trip if they visit Crete. Cheers~

  • From Heraklion: Full-Day Gramvousa and Balos Tour

    5. From Heraklion: Full-Day Gramvousa and Balos Tour

Following pick-up along the Malia to Agia Pelagia main road, travel by air-conditioned coach to the west of Crete. Stop at the small village of Skaleta, near Rethimnon. Enjoy a cup of coffee or breakfast and then continue to Kissamos to board a boat and start your cruise. Admire a vast cave that was most likely an ancient shipyard. See sea turtles and dolphins playing in the water. Marvel at the geological phenomenon of the simultaneous lifting and sinking of 2 sides of the island: the western side rises 6 to 9 meters above sea level. Disembark on the island of Gramvousa, with its Venetian castle. Also known as "Pirates' Island," Gramvousa used to be a hiding place for rebels. The broader area of Gramvousa forms one of the most significant hydro-biotopes of the eastern Mediterranean. Here, you can encounter over 100 bird and 400 plant species. Enjoy plenty of free time to swim at a go...

It was a good experience. Only few points to raise: the pick-up was 30 mins late. It was very windy and the boat was packed, it took very long to get off the boat, so shorter time was available to stay on the beach. If you choose to walk up to the castle, beware that there is no health and safety, few places was very dangerous, I would not do it again. Otherwise the view was beautiful, it is worth the hassle and money but the terrible wind made the experience less enjoyable.

Go for a stroll along a black sand beach at Perissa or Perivolos before the return boat departure at 5:45 PM.

It was quite a good trip, absolutly valued the money. If you wouldnt go to Santorini for a week it a good option to get a bit experience of it. I would definetly recommend this trip. We had a really good guide.

  • Crete: Land Rover Safari on Minoan Route

    7. Crete: Land Rover Safari on Minoan Route

Explore Crete by Land Rover on a full-day adventure along the Minoan Path, and experience a blend of ancient myths, spectacular landscapes, and a barbecue lunch on the Lassithi Plateau. Following a pick-up from your hotel, drive through spectacular mountains on route to the Aposelemis Basin Reservoir, and see an ancient aqueduct of the Roman Empire. Drive through a stunning mountain landscape to see wildlife and unbelievable scenery. Learn the myths and legends of Crete on the way to a shepherds' mitato (mountain shelter). Feed the animals as you watch the shepherds produce cheese according to traditional methods. Taste some of the fresh, rich cheese. Enjoy a bird’s-eye view ...

The trip was great! Only reason the review is 4 stars and not 5, is because the rest of the group was very indifferent about all the activities and that affected everyone's mood.

  • Day Tour: Spinalonga, Elounda, Agios Nikolaos, & Kolokitha

    8. Day Tour: Spinalonga, Elounda, Agios Nikolaos, & Kolokitha

You will be picked up from the Heraklion area and taken along the picturesque northeast coast through the gorge of St George, reaching the small fishing village of Elounda. Today Elounda is a popular holiday resort, often visited by celebrities for the luxurious white beaches. From there, take the boat to the small island of Spinalonga. The history and the culture of Spinalonga are laced with different diverse strands of history. In Ancient Greek times it served as a natural guard for the city of Olous; later it was used as a hide-out for Saracen pirates, turned into a fortress by the Venetians, and later settled by the Turks.  After your guided tour of the island, escape to the small sandy pirate bay of Kolokitha, where the boat will be anchored. Swim in the crystal clear waters, and then savor a delicious barbecue served on board. Later the boat returns to Elounda, where you take the...

Great day all activities were very well planned guide was very informative on spinalonga

  • Santorini: Full-Day Tour from Crete

    9. Santorini: Full-Day Tour from Crete

Visit Santorini, the island neighboring Crete, and enjoy a short cruise in just 1 day. After pick-up from your hotel, head to the harbor and begin your 4-hour boat tour on the Cretan Sea. Upon arrival, see the white houses of Fira that lie high above the edge of the crater, and decide whether you would like to spend more time on this volcanic island. Wander the small town of Fira or visit the picturesque town of Oia. Enjoy the leisurely Greek lifestyle and visit a taverna or 2. Relax on the beach, enjoy the day by the sea, and simply leave your cares behind.

Well organized. I left from Rethymno. It would have been a better tour if the ferry trip had taken 2 hours in each direction and the extra 2 hours could behave been spent between Oia and Fira/Thira. That said, we got to see beautiful parts of Santorini and had some time to shop and sample Santorini cuisine. A very good tour.

  • Samaria Gorge: Day Trip from Agia Pelagia, Heraklion & Malia

    10. Samaria Gorge: Day Trip from Agia Pelagia, Heraklion & Malia

Enjoy breakfast at Rethymno, the first stop on this 17-hour Samaria Gorge excursion. Begin your trek at Xiloskalo, where you'll enter the vast, 18-kilometer canyon. Hike along a path that follows the route of the ancient Taras River. Admire the caves that formed a natural shelter for the Cretans in war times and now are home to wild goats. See the abandoned village of Samaria before reaching the Iron Gates, 3 kilometers before the end of the gorge. Rest and enjoy lunch (at your own expense) at the small fishing village of Agia Roumeli. Cool off with a refreshing swim in the Libyan Sea before boarding the ship that takes you back to the village of Sfakia.

Very long and very hot, exhausting day but so worth it to visit the gorge! Please be prepared with actual hiking shoes or you will not make it through the entire hike. Water is frequently available at rest areas on the journey. The gorge is worth it and beautiful!

Very nice! Our guides were very informative and helpful and it was amazing to scuba dive for the first time! Directions were very clear from an English-speaking perspective. We also were provided lots of water. Only issue I ran into was the tour was not actually 1.5 hours long. It was more like 5 hours with the wait time!
